the real question is, how do these compare to say klipsch or the z6-80s even the z650

I think the real question for most people is the price-to-performance factor on a system that meets their needs. Here's a very basic comparison:

Monsoon MH-505, 5.1 system, THX-no, 85 Watts, $112@Xtremegear

Logitech Z560, 4.1 system, THX-yes, 400 Watts, $159@Newegg

Logitech Z680, 5.1 system, THX-yes, 505 Watts, $290@Newegg

Klipsch GMX, 5.1 system, THX-no, 100 Watts, $243@Xtremegear

Klipsch Promedia, 5.1 system, THX-yes, 500 Watts, $358@Newegg

Should one pay substantially more for a marginal (if any) increase in sound quality? If one is looking for a great sounding, 5.1 system which isn’t going to be played at volume levels that are above the threshold of pain, the choice is pretty easy. If one has different requirements, then they’ll have to do a bit more research.
