Dear sailrabbit,

HPshopping.com recently experienced a surge in demand for some of our
products as a result of some popular promotional offers. Thus, we regret
that we were unable to fulfill all orders relating to these offers.

At hpshopping.com, we are absolutely committed to making this an excellent
shopping experience for you. Since we cannot promise availability of
these items in a timely fashion, we have made the decision in the interest
of customer satisfaction to provide you with a check in the amount of the
coupon(s) you attempted to redeem.

You can expect to receive a check via U.S. mail within 4-6 weeks. If you
have any further questions on this matter, please feel free to e-mail us
at: [email protected]

Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We
appreciate your visit to hpshopping.com, and we hope to have another
chance to meet your computing product needs.

Regards,
hpshopping.com Customer Service

I got this as well, read it, and then kind of sat back stunned... how can they afford to do this? That's $30 checks they'll be mailing out left and right to the thousands that tried to place orders. More peculiar, I placed a second order using and got $29.97 off using the coupons, yet I'll still receive a check? Intriguing business practices on HP's part - you won't hear me complain about receiving $59.97 off my initial order though.

After receiving this email, I have to say one thing about HP, THEY RULE. Cool $30.00 for free.

Yeah... I didn't do this, but I've dealt with HP's customer service department before (a Jornada buyback) and it was by far one of the most pleasant CS experiences I've ever had.

Maybe it will be one of those gay checks that are to the retailer which can only be cashed if you used it to an hp purchase or something like that. I have seen them from other companies before.

Please don't say things like that. http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif

I would be really shocked to see a $30 check from them - I mean, real cash, but that's what it sounds like. Cheers to HP for a pretty phenomenal customer service deal.

I got that e-mail too. When I got home yesterday, lo and behold, the HP products I ordered were sitting by my door

Too cool. Two orders cancelled, two orders filled, and two $40 checks received.

HP, thats what I call deep pockets.
