Like many others I did an order, got no confirm, and when I called CS was told it was cencelled due to out of stack. Then of course it shows up at $149.95 on Staples site.
I was interested in the deal even without the free money, so I decided to try again. Before placing my order, I found an interesting coupn on another site with "unknown expiration" that was $80 off $180.
I added a $50 Intellimouse Optical, which I wnated anyhow, and tried it. The order took, I got a shipping confirm although the Peachtree is not scheduled for delivery till 8/30. I am hopeful though far from certain that Staples will honor their rebate given the late delivery date and/or the not valid with other offers caveats. If they do I end up paying $20 plus $X sales tax for the software and the mouse. I'd be right tickled.
If you added something that was only $30 this works out very near the 119.95 minus $25 which everyone was screwed on.
The $80 off $180 coupon I used was 88674. It sure seeed to work ok.

Wow, expired less than 2 hours after your post!
"Sorry, this coupon number has expired"
Coupon didn't work for me with a $190 total.

we might need a new type of deals forum or something, i know staples checks this site everyday as well as anandtech for coupon abuse or even just coupons that should not have been released to the public or whatever.

Pretty funny that Staples is so vigilant about coupons when they claim that coupon use has led to very small losses on their part. We all know that isn't true. They have gottem reamed with coupon abuse more than any other on-line retailer except maybe Buy.com

Why sweat it? Simply go to your local B & M. Not only did I get Peachtree and the rebate, but found lots of supplies free or damn near free after rebate. Had no prob getting a total over $200, used a $40 off $200 postcard and ended up with about $210 in merchandise for less than free after rebates!

I'm glad I got in on this one early. My Peachtree just came in the mail today. eBay time!...
Hey shank, could you share w/the rest of us what all you got for less than free?

Let's see: 2 white out pens and 3-pack of bottles, eraseable BIC pens all free after rebate; Crayola markers, Pentel mechanical pencils and some other similar stuff more than half off after rebate. Was pretty easy to get the total over $200 (with the $150 Peachtree) to use the $40 off and get the office supplies for less than free after rebates!

don't multiple rebates on the same bill mean that you have to have separate receipts? how do you handle this?

Hah, we should ask Apex to ban all incoming requests from a staples.com IP address http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/tongue.gif

I bought a phone awhile back from them that I had to send two things out for (I don't remember, I think one was a Staples rebate and one was a product rebate) and they both said they accepted xeroxes.

Where is the serial number located so I can fill out the rebate form. Is it in the box? I hate to open it as I am going to sell it on Ebay.
