I really like the idea. Although Stripperella was pretty bad (see other post about the show), I enjoyed the bitter sarcasm of Gary the Rat.

Have you seen the ads for MXC -- Most Extreme something Challenge I think... but it's like Iron Chef, but with physical competitions. Japanese taped game show with a guy-humor twist. Well, it was on at 7pm Thursday, so catch it and see if ya like it :D

I hope the concept of a network for men works out, because I think it's only fair that if Oxygen can be a women-only channel, TNN can have a men-only channel!

What are your thoughts?

Putting the F-U back in FUN! I love that show, even though it is totally ridiculous!

MXC is hilarious! I've only seen it once but it was great! The dubbing is what really makes the show funny. I would love to be a writer for that show! :hihi:

...and.... REN & STIMPY ARE BACK!! :D

MXC is the show. I miss it when they air it, but my trusty PVR/Reciever saves them all for me. That show makes my week. The commentary is way out there but oh man, there are some classic lines.

"She cooks? I thought lesbians always ate out."

you know, the first time i watched MXC, i noticed one of the hosts (the two guys in kimonos who sit fanning themselves and making comments to each other between events) looked like beat takeshi. sure enough, at the end of the show, the credits said the original japanese version was called "takeshi's castle."

this is interesting because beat takeshi is a japanese director, like this hardcore yakuza dude who makes/made ultra-violent movies. he's even got the bigass tatoo covering the enitirety of his back. but here he is, being a goofball and coming up with this crazy show... i thought it was cool...

on another note, was anyone else here utterly disappointed with the new Ren and Stimpy? i mean, parts of it were kinda funny, i guess, but it seemed like they just went out of their way to be as vulgar as possible. the original show was vulgar too, but it didn't rely so much on cheap humor. oh well... Ren and Stimpy will never be the same... Space Madness, anyone?

Yeah, I know Takeshi is ultra-violent to the degree of making it look like some perverted dream/joke. He was the Yakuza boss in Johnny Mnemonic which I found pretty funny and he was the messed up teacher in Battle Royale which just makes you sit and think WTF? over and over again. It really is interesting that here's this sinister mind acting the fool.
