Damn. My friend and I went out to try and catch 28 Days Later last night, and it was sold out! I can't believe that a zombie movie would sell out, even on it's opening night... though, when I think about it, it was probably filled with all the guys who ditched their dates to watching Charlie's Angles. :P

Anyway, have any of you seen it? Do any of you plan to see it? I guess my friend and I are just going to have to wait for another late showing. :(

funny thing is, its already on DVD in britain (where it was from originally). The british FHM magazine was already rating it a must-get DVD movie.

Yeah. It's the same way with Shaolin Soccer... though I'm not sure if they rate that as a "must-get" DVD... :hmm:

Anyway, I want to make sure and see it on the big screen. After being disappointed by most of the trash that's come out of Hollywood this summer, hopefully, it will be a pleasant surprise.

And it was. :D

My advice to you: take a cute/hot (whichever you prefer) girl to this movie with you and pull up the armrests between your seats. :P

I thought this was a great movie. They made a lot of very abrupt scene, score, and other changes to help get the audience on their toes... but not too much. The makers of Event Horizon could take a few pointers. The story was very good and not wholly predictable. This also was a kind of shift back to the original zombie movies, especially in the realm of social commentary.

Anyway, I give it five corpses up... errr... I mean erect... eh... whatever, just take a hot woman with you. ;)

This is interesting...

'28 Days Later' to add a second, darker ending (http://www.zap2it.com/movies/news/story/0,1259,---17753,00.html)

Twenty-eight days after exposing audiences to director Danny Boyle's apocalyptic horror film "28 Days Later," Fox Searchlight will infect movie theaters nationwide with a grimmer alternate ending.

Beginning July 25, audiences who view the entire film through the end credits will see a title card that reads "...what if" before playing the more downbeat alternative conclusion, which runs approximately four-and-a-half minutes.

The darker ending's poor testing with preview audiences prompted a switch to the current ending, which was the original scripted version, according to the Los Angeles Times. "We can't do this to people, because it was such a tough journey anyway," Boyle tells the newspaper he had decided.

But now, the gloomier ending, already available on British DVDs, is back for audiences to decide which conclusion they prefer.

"28 Days Later" is the post-apocalyptic tale about an powerful virus that spreads to epidemic proportions in Britain, killing all but a handful of survivors. The unusual virus has psychological effects, turning the infected into zombie-like beings locked into a permanent state of murderous rage. Directed by Boyle, the film is a critical and commercial success, grossing $30 million in the U.S.
