Call them hasbians. Women who came out of the closet only to end up in heterosexual relationships. Switching teams is never easy—no matter which side you're on.

If the lipstick lesbian was the gay icon of the nineties, these days she’s been replaced by her more controversial counterpart, the hasbian: a woman who used to date women but now dates men. Though Anne Heche is the most prominent example, many hasbians (sometimes called LUGS: lesbians until graduation) are by-products of nineties liberal-arts educations. Caught up in the gay scene at school, they came out at 20 or 21 and now, five or ten years later, are finding themselves in the odd position of coming out all over again—as heterosexuals.

It has a lot to do with societies acceptance of female homosexuality. Men like lesbians thus we make it acceptable for women to experiment even if they don't end up being lesbians for the rest of their life. I read this exact subject in my sociology book and they seemed to think its only a matter of time until its that way for both genders.

The liberal agenda is becoming rather boring and extremely predictable.
I figured what was in the article even before I read it.

I am surprised that "lesbophobe" didn't appear in the article.

I'd imagine about half the gays in this country are conservative, just like the general population. Statistics show that national trends tend to carry over to the micro level.

yeah...I think it was a trendy thing to do if you were a woman in the nineties. Experimentation and such.
