Warcraft III Expansion: Frozen Throne

Still no thread about this?! Wowza, it's been out for a few days now! I'm going to pick it up tomorrow and test it on Monday (when I get back to my computer at school). Hope it brings the same flava Brood War did to Starcraft :)

Anyone get this yet?

I was one of the beta testers for it, and I quit playing it about halfway through the testing period. I didn't like the changes they were making to the game, and it was no longer fun for me. :shrug: It's one expansion I'm not going to buy.

I bought the day it came out. It really changes the game a lot. Especially right now since most everyone is low level you get to play some of the people who were major badasses at the original warcraft but you get to BEAT their ass in the frozen throne. I was ranked like 82 the first day and now i've dropped to 223 or something like that. The feel of the game has changed considerably. Everything is counter-able (well, most everything) and the sucky units have been modified to be useful now. Nothing is really overpowered and if you get your army slaughtered in one battle the game isn't necessarily over. I'm still getting used to everything because the game is 1,000 times more complicated now but I think it made Wc3 fun again.

I got it. Ordered it over a month ago. Now that I have it, I opened the box, and its just sitting here. For some reason, I have no urge to play. I think I've grown too accustomed to custom games, and because my friends don't have it yet, bah!

I've been to tied down with Star Wars Galaxies when ever I get a chance to play it...

Plus, its summer, so hunting season just started and have to go out on the real battlefield :P

I finally got it and I feel like such a noob!

You know that urge you get to skip single player missions and just learn how to play on battlenet... you lose so bad your first game :heh:

It seems more complicated, but I'm hoping it'll add new depth to custom games too (my old fave)

I already beat it. Ya, it's great. Almost as much single player action as the original game. Makes for a very nice addon.


Man, in the bonus mission the damn Orc hero gets STRONG. I got him up to like 100 damage and like 1300 HP. He also has a bear as his first mana power and I got that thing up to like 1900 HP.

It is a really good expansion. I liked the storyline and the different modes of play. The bonus story was awesome too. My character has about 100 damage too, and the jamaican hero dude is so fast cus i boosted up his agility so much with tomes. I can't wait till parts 2 and 3 come out.

I'm not used to the new units yet. Too much microing as it was, now there's more units to worry about. The undead statues are nice though. I think it makes the undead too strong, but then again I haven't played online yet.

After i completed the last mission, it said Blizzard would make parts 2 and 3 downloadable for free.

"Too much microing as it was" Thats what makes this game totally different from Age of the Empires or any other Strategy game... it takes skill ;)

Just got the expansion today, as everyone kept bugging me about re-joining x clan. I am on there now and have to say, they added alot of fresh, new units, that mix things up alot!

I believe so far, that undead are the best, because they offer the most versatility and options. I still yet to have play Night elf, but have experimented with the other races. Hopefully I can get my rank back up, or even higher :p

Tip for wining w/ undead: Upgrade meat wags (produce corps), upgrade necs, drop corpse's durring battle with a feasable army like normal, and flank with skeletons.. I beat 4 people from my clan with that strat, but Im not telling you the build order, figure it out yourself ;)

I havent even gotten to play the first one enough to like it that much yet... Stupid deployments GURRRRRRR... SW:G is going to take my time up for atleast a little while when I get back... that .. and Girlfriend...

I beat it over the 4th of July weekend, the single player. I am upset it went fast and there was less building, more look for this etc. And that 3rd one, was that a joke? I was mad that it wasn't complete. I love this game but what they charge for it is kinda ridiculous.
