View Full Version : 200% PRICE GUARANTEE AT GOODGUYS ELECTRONICS!!! SUPER HOT DEAL!!!

from 8/15 to 8/31, anything you buy at goodguys (the electronics chain in CA and NV) will be covered by a 200% PRICE GUARANTEE, good for 60 days after the purchase of the item!!!!!
Since theres a 30 day return guarantee on most items, purchase items between 8/15 and 8/31 you "feel" may go lower within 30 days. and if they dont you can return them! Goodguys sells camcorders, phones (cordless and cell), palm pilots, car stereos, etc. They only match local stores who have the items in stock. If you try to pricematch at the time of purchase, you only get the lower price and a "$25 value gift". This might be good for pricing cheap things (cables, batteries, etc) but we are looking for the 200% deals, and you need to FIRST PURCHASE THEN PRICEMATCH LATER (can do it next day or within 60 days)
What we need to do is find AND POST items which CAN BE PRICEMATCHED LOWER THAN THE GOODGUYS PRICES!! to get the hot deals! I have thought about a few and heres what ive come up with so far:
MTX 10 inch subwoofer: $79 at goodguys, but ive seen them recently at "2 for $89" at circuit city, and they repeat the promo frequently..according to goodguys promo:
2 subs at good guys = $158
2 subs at circuit city = $89
difference =$69
200% difference = $138 BACK!!!
AND sony camcorder with lcd screen, Goodguys price is $399 and Ive seen it at Montgomery Wards for $359...
goodguys price $399
wards price $359
200% diffrence = $80 BACK!!
CATCH: the difference is refunded in a store credit for future purchases, NOT cash back, so that kinda puts a hamper on things, but this can still net some hot deals on certain items!!!
LETS FIND AND POST MORE DEALS TO BE HAD!!!!

if you guys are going to do this, you should watch out for re-stock fee items. i know that things like digital cameras is a 15% re-stocking fee. so you want to make sure the item(s) you are getting doesn't have a fee before you get it for this reason.

I dont get this. if its 200% back then shouldn't i get the camcorder for free and then get 359 back in store credit.

Does anybody know if they would be willing to ship items from their store? I can't exactly afford to drive to NV or CA from Texas but I really want to get in on these deals!

More than a palindrome, it's a way of life!
arent you the one who claimed to get arrested for pricematching? Are you an idiot or do you just make this stuff up???
oh yeah...your last "HOT SUPER DEAL" was buying used Firestone tires and trading them in. i bet that worked well...

Ok I need clarification on this. Let's create a scenario. I buy an md player at good guys ($100). I see it at ecost for $50. I pricematch for 200% and get $100 store credit. I return the md player to good guys, get another $100. Am I left with $200 store credit or I can't return and keep the credit?
sorry if this pisses anyone off.

The Good Guys near me is a strip club. (In DC, all nude). Will they give $.50 back from my dollar if I find a better looking stripper?

it pretty much works when you actually can use the stuff.
question: when you return say the sub with the 30day period, do they still allow you to keep that 'store' credit?

For any of you guys who are interested in trying the AMEX blue idea with this one better know that it shouldn't fly. The back of the AMEX BLUE book(that came with your card) explicitly says that stores that have their own "lowest price guarantee" are not covered by the lowest price guarantee!

OK, ran by the local GG, and here's the official protocol:
Offer good on all current oxed stock of the exact same model from any factory authorized ocal stocking dealer. GG Low Price Guarantee even applies to wireless phones and pagers that have identical carriers, rate plans and offers. Does not apply to special, bonus, or free offers, or products with special financing.
So the question is, what the hell is a "special" offer? Does a sale count? Anyone actually done this successfully yet?
BTW, their car audio section totally blows.

ripped straight from Anand...
Yeah I called the Goodguys electronics about this deal, and gave them some questions that I had. They will only
do the 200% difference on ADVERTISED products with the same SKU # and new condition as they sell it. If it is
not advertised, then they will only match that store's price. Also, I don't think they match closeouts, floor
models, used, etc like that.
So there...

dont believe that penny pinch!! Thats simply an assh@le tactic some CSRs and managers use to not honor pricematches, Ive pricematched the MTX woofers that ARE NOT advertised, it worked...there is NOTHING in their deal referring to items have to be "advertised" to get the 200%
Indeed, PennyPinch, they're taking you for a ride. That's not policy.

There's still a day left in this deal. I'm just too timid to try it, though I live vicariously from seeing people post their successes. heh

<--- works customer service
you know what they teach people like me?
No.... No.... NO.... maybe, let me check. Then we sit around... make you think we're being productive by asking someone who is not the supervisor because I would rather talk about sports... then I get back to you and say ok, we will honor it this time only.
