sorry, i don't have much info on this. i thought i'd just start up a thread for any and all updates...
In an announcement sure to make waves in the entertainment industry, ADV Films President and CEO John Ledford yesterday publicly confirmed industry rumors that the firm has acquired the rights to produce, and has already begun development of, a live-action feature-film based on the Japanese animated television series Neon Genesis Evangelion, a multi-million dollar worldwide franchise and perhaps the most influential anime title in the history of the art form. The project is a collaboration between ADV Films, Gainax and Weta Workshop, Ltd.
weta workshop is responsible for the Lord of the Rings fx... i first read news of this today at barnes&nobles. in it, the creator pretty much told ADV films to have free reign on the story--to not be constrained by the storyline from the series. should be interesting to see how it turns out.
so what you think? or :thumbdown
