This could be a really good fit for him. He may not get as many points as he got in Denver, or he may get more, this all depends on T-Mac. I'm not sure if this is what the Magic needs to get in to the Finals...especially when there are other stacked teams that have more than 2 superstars.

From ESPN.com

http://espn.go.com/nba/news/2003/0713/1580308.html
"Howard has verbally agreed to a five-year deal with Orlando for about $28 million, the Orlando Sentinel reported in Monday's editions.

The newspaper reports the deal will begin at the Magic's mid-level exception worth $4.8 million. The veteran forward can't sign the deal until the league's free agency period begins on Wednesday.

Howard also was being recruited by the Timberwolves and the Pistons.

"I want to win," Howard told The Sporting News earlier last week. "That has always been my goal since Day One, since I stepped foot in the NBA. I have had an opportunity to win at all levels, college and high school. Now, I am in a position that I can make a decision to go anywhere I want to go, and I am excited about that."

Howard, 30, a nine-year veteran, averaged 18.4 points and 7.6 rebounds with the Denver Nuggets in 2002-03. He has averaged 17.9 points and 7.5 rebounds for his career.

"I do whatever teams want me to do," Howard told The Sporting News. "In Dallas, I was the fourth option and I accepted that role and we made it to the second round and won over 50 games. In Denver, they wanted me to be the go-to guy. I accepted and put up 19 points a game.""

The magic need a big man. We get dominated by physical teams. Its depressing watching the games. We go up early in the game when T-mac can finesse points. Then he gets tired and the other teams gets physical and they come back and win.

After the Grant Hill fiasco here I'm not confident in anyone to be the 'savior' again.

He wisely jumped ship when Shaq did. He's on Phoenix now? I havent kept track of Hardaway since he left.

I remembered the Magic very well with bunches of sweep by both Eastern and Western conference teams in the playoffs when Shaq was playing.

Penny was overrated. He needed Shaq more than Shaq needed him. Its easy to score when Shaq is getting doubled or tripled team all the time. Plus who would want a member of the Fab 5. They've all been losers in some form along the way.

No No No. I bet you anything Webber was PAID to call that timeout so people who bet against Michigan won a boatload of money...Perhaps aside from the millions these kids got in college, they were also fixing games....the plot thickens.

i dunno. i'm no chris webber or u-m apologist, but webber and the fab five teams have been investigated pretty well over the past few years by the feds, the ncaa, and the school itself.

while a fix is always possible, it would seem that evidence of it might have surfaced through all the investigations.

Oh, i definitely agree whitak. I'm a die-hard michigan fan, as i grew up listening to my uncle and my father (who are both alumni of UofM) rave about how great the football and basketball teams were...and how they always beat Ohio State. LOL
