wow, that brought back so many memories!
I think it was written from a girls point of view so there were some that I knew about but didn't apply to me.

26. You have ever pondered why Smurfette was the only female smurf.

They dedicated an entire episode to address this issue. She started out as evil with black hair. Yes, I am sad that I somehow remember this. :disa:

A lot of this was from the early '90s or late '70s

and if you know what this is from...

Well, they call me Sweetness,
And I like to dance.
Runnin' the ball is like makin' romance.
We've had the goal since training camp
To give Chicago a Super Bowl Champ.
And we're not doin' this
Because we're greedy.
The Bears are doin' it to feed the needy.
We didn't come here to look for trouble,
We just came here to do
The Super Bowl Shuffle.

1) How 'bout actually knowing the words to various DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince songs BEFORE "Fresh Prince of Belair" ran? (Nightmare on My Own Street, Parents Just Don't Understand, etc.)

2) Two words: Mini-Pops.

3) I think it was called "Lite Brite" -- NOT "bright" but what would I know? Not like I had any of those silly things? :D

4) ...Also, where's mention of Max Hedroom? (I think that's the spelling).

Quite a few of them I remember well (and as for the Ninja Turtles comment, I had the blue tape of the 1st soundtrack, and the orange tape of the 2nd one).

Think of it like this... even if it didn't all happen DURING the 80s, if you were a product of the 80s, you were exposed to it

I was actually thinking the same thing when I read the list.

Things such as remembering where you were when the challenger exploded, the Hinkley assination attempt on Reagan, When MTV went on the air - "Video killed the Radio Star", when cable was novel and the majority of people didnt have it, Texas Instrument computers with their great speech processors and then finally 80/86 computers. Things like that. A long time ago I was sent a list by one of my friends that was actually dead on unlike this list. It was probably made by someone who was actually born in the mid 80's rather than someone who was born in the mid 70's and therefore the 80's were the formative age in their lives.

I always find it odd that I can look at a playboy and the centerfold wasnt even born until the mid 80's....makes me feel older than old.

I remember when MTV started (August 1st, 1981) you could watch for 24 hours and there would be no repeats. It was just music, not all the other crap that's on it now. When I hear most songs from that era, I can immediately remember what the video was like.

No repeats? Are you on crack? When MTV went on the air there were only like ten music videos in existence. About a year later there was a lot of variety but in the beginning quite a bit of stuff was in heavy rotation.
