WHAT IS STEAM?

Steam is Valve's new way of getting games into your hands ASAP. Games like Half-Life, Counter-Strike, and Counter-Strike Condition Zero are all being made available through Steam.

Steam games are automatically kept up-to-date with the latest content and revisions. Steam also includes an instant-message client which even works while you're in-game.

At its core, Steam is a distributed file system and shared set of technology components that can be implemented into any software application.

With Steam, developers are given integrated tools for direct-content publishing, flexible billing, ensured-version control, anti-cheating, anti-piracy, and more. Check out the full feature list, and install Steam today!

Now the question is.. if I d/l steam and update to CS 1.6beta, can I still play 1.5..

I doubt it.. but they shouldn't make it so you have to stay at 1.6.. or it should at least be backwards compatible...

No no no no, read the faq page

If you install steam, its seperate from your normal sierra folder, thus making it so u can play 1.5 normally, and 1.6 on steam...

So yes, you can still play 1.5

I ust play in servers that do not have hackers. This may sound odd but the servers I play in do not have very many hackers come through. If one does come through it is usually handled very quickly.

Yea, some servers allow hackers to come in, as their mostly a bunch of 12 year olds who want to screw around...

just look for a decent clan server thats listed on ogl, or another tournament type, and it will be fine, trust me.
