Warning.
I just spent 30 min adding a Dreamcast reg 199 on sale for 169 and three other items to my cart. When I checked out and was ready to order, the price of the dreamcast changed to back to 199 and two of the other items I had in my basket "were not subject to the promotion".
As far as TVs go. There are some on the site that sell for above MSRP on phillipsmagnavox.com!! So after the 30% off you are paying just under MSRP...beware.
Better off going to 800.com or Mercata.

hey...just check the deals section. so what's the deal with the coupons? are there any limitations or anything else? so you could order a $1700 Bigscreen TV for $500 off...with the 30% coupon?
is this a really good deal or is it just me?
how do i redeem it? and he says to go pick it up at a B&M store? how do i redeem the coupon there?
anyway..thanks in advance

Don't get a $1700 big screen, you'll see scan lines on a big screen that cheap. Go for a big screen HDTV. Those are all over $2000 but worth it. The picture is amazing on the big screen HDTV's.

i called jcpennys and the csr told me that they dont have any coupons for this kind of deal (one mentioned on the deals page). she said they had one a while back, but not anymore. has anyone bought something from there with the discount? i'm looking to buy a tv and i found a pretty good deal, but i want to make sure this will work.

If you put the code in the shopping card, it takes off the appropriate percentage.

well, the thing is...i ordered a dreamcast for $159.99 (the current sale price) before i found out about the 30% off. so, i called 1-800-322-1189 and explained the situation and the lady added something on the invoice saying that they have to take into account the coupon code that i forgot to give when i pay for it when i pick it up. basically a price adjustment. so, no matter what crap they give me when i pick it up, I AM GETTING 30% OFF. heck, i might be able to pull off 30% off the $159.99 sale price if i can trick the cashier.

I ordered a Sharp 8mm camcorder yesterday. Retail price is $349, I applied the coupon and everything got screwed up online. So I called the toll free number at Penneys. She checked and didnt notice that I had submitted a coupon. So I asked her about it, and she said I could use it for that purchase. She didnt know of any restrictions for the coupon. So I got the camcorder for $245!!

Does the site allow the option of picking up the merchandise to avoid a shipping cost? (I'm thinking of the 27" Trinitron)
Can it be picked up at a local JCPENNY?
Thanks!

Yes whodini. They supply you with a local map and then you select the store that you want to pick it up

Even if you do decide to have your items sent to the JCPenny Catalog Pickup, you still have to pay a shipping fee. It is not as bad plus it gets there a lot faster. Most items can get there within 3 days...with a TV it may take up to 5 days.

Was anyone able to get this coupon to work online without calling JCPenny to get the deal to work???

i called jcp's and ordered the dreamcast bundle over the phone. i got the 30% off...but still charged shipping. shipping to a local store was $7, or $9 to my door, so i took the home delivery.
i ended up with the dreamcast deal for $124 after shipping/tax, plus the sega MIR.

My brother just price-matched a refridgerator at sears. Took a printout of the screen just before order committal and they honored the price.

If only I could find a hot deal on an electrician I'd order a dryer. But no 220v receptacle in my place...

Hey Peardog, I was thinking about ordering the exact same thing...
Did you have to call them to make sure the deal went through??
Or did you do it all online??

They've been around that price for weeks now.

That coupon worked great. I ordered the 20 inch SONY WEGA TV on friday. It was 5 dollars more to ship it to my house than a Local JCPENNY. It arrived yesterday, that's pretty fast. I figured they'd try to back out of giving the deal. Usually department stores never include electronics with coupons. I'm sure they won't ever do this again, so take advantage.

Well, the reason you would want to pick up the item is because you get charged at the time of pickup. This gives you the opportunity to apply for a JCPenny card for an additional 10% off! I ordered the 27 inch trinitron with PIP last night and after a total of 40% off, it should come to about $360 final price.
