I'm shopping around for new cell phones and one deal that I've found is 49.99 for 1000 peak and 5000 off peak shared by 2 phones (free phones).
Does anyone out there have a better deal?

Depends on the provider, for example, a cingular phone will get worse reception than a sprint or nextel in southern california but cingular is a lot cheaper. I chose the better service with sprint and pay 20$ more a month to get reception in my house and a hell of a lot of other areas that did not have reception. Basically, weigh the cost of the service versus the reception. Ask around other people that have cellphones, and see if they get good reception where you are and what they reccommend. Getting a good provider is important because, since you are getting free phones, you will be locked into a one year contract, and most likely, a 2 year.
