what do you want to know?

attend a seminar that is offered by many of the major brokerage houses. Just call one up and ask if there is one coming up.

Keep in mind, your typical Joe Sixpack playing the stock market will average about a 7% return over his lifetime. The historical return on mutual funds approaches 12%. If you're interested in long-term investing, go with mutual funds.

But stocks are fun to play with. I have about $500 in stocks, just for fun.

get a subsription to Invetors Busniess Daily or the Wallstreet Journal. They are both very good publications that are helpful. I agree with what has been said about going to a seminar put on by a major brokerage house. They can be quite helpful. Also, I agree with the suggestion of going in mutual funds. Major index funds are a good place to start since they are safe but give some growth. Do your homework! Don't just invest your money somewhere because some schmuck said "it looks good." You worked hard for your money, don't give it away.
