I did a brief search on pricewatch and found the retail Chaintech GeForce4 Ti4800 128MB sold for $140 shipped while the Sapphire Radeon 9600 256MB non-pro sold for $139 shipped. Which one would give me more performance with picture quality in mind? My secondary system is still using GeForce2 GTS so any upgrade will improve the performance. :)
TIA

I don't think Sapphire makes a 256mb 9600. It's not listed on their website. Anyways, for todays games like quake3 the GF4 would be the faster card. The Rad 9600 can do dx9 for future games so it will make the new games look prettier. So the question is faster or prettier for future games.
If you're interested I do have a slightly used Radeon 9700tx card I would sell for $200. It was pulled from a dell system and I used it for a couple months.

I'd get the gf4. the 9600np is well slower than a ti4200.

ceeka,
What is 9700 "tx"?
Canta,
Thanks. :)
even though my name is not ceeka ;) the 9700 TX is usually found in Dell computers. It's basically the 9700 non-pro, but from all the buzz, if you choose to overclock it, it can reach the clock speeds of the 9700 pro :)
