Cingular deals?

I'm looking to sign up for Cingular cell service (new contract) in NYC and was wondering if there are any promotions going on and/or a cheap place to get the Sony T616 phone (online or B&M). T-Mobile, ATTWS, Verizon and Nextel are not options right now. It has to be Cingular.

cingular's reception in NY is REALLY crappy. much worse than CA. i really wouldn't recommend it.

SprintPCS offers great service in Manhattan. As far as upstate New York is concerned, i'm not sure how good SprintPCS is.

I'm on T-Moble and I get great reception here in Cali. From the carts, NYC should have pretty good reception also.
