View Full Version : CA Republicans finally getting smart? Not giving Davis a target?

Could the trick be... to give him five opponents rather than just one?

And then at the 11th hour, have four of them step aside and endorse the remaining one?

Gray Davis won elections by telling people how bad his opponent was... and that people should be happy that he is not like that opponent. He could be the master of negative campaigning.

If he has five opponents on which he'd need to dig up dirt in the next two months... perhaps that task would be too much for his massive campaign funds... eh? And wouldn't be absorbed by the people as well as shots against one would be.

It's harder to hit a moving target... maybe the California Republicans have finally wised up.

Personally, as a politically active teenager, I think this needs to stop. This isn't good for our state in so many ways. I know what you may be thinking, "neither is gray davis." But I just think this will demoralize people and won't get us started on fixing our debt for quite a while... oh well...

I don't know how this recall thing works - do they vote for the person to run against him like it was a new election or does the republican party just pick somebody? Because in the last election he basically won by running massive smear campaigns on all of the republican candidates except the worst one there was, so that guy would win the primaries and be an easy defeat in the actual election.
