It doesn't work for me. Can't find the item with the number you gave. And I couldn't find such thing as "Dreamcast Bundle" either... http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/frown.gif
Just ignore this one. I figure out now. Just ordered one for myself. Thanks!

Um, we aren't really into the whole credit thing. A good deal is a good deal, whoever finds it. Thanks to resin and okimoto, though.
Online sega thing: yup, one login is all it takes. Can cancel immediately.
Anyone figure out how many controllers are included?

Resin, where did this promotional code come from? I.e., is it something intended for use by the general public?

Grabbed it off fatwallet.com when I saw a post for someone looking for a DC. Personally I didn't order one but was looking at the 20" WEGA for $250

What are the requirements for trying the sega online service? How long do you have to subscribe and what does it cost?

NFL2k and Sonic are the games. I believe for the online rebate you have to sign up, then logon, then you can cancel. You have to logon at least once.

If you use a JcPenny credit card you get another %10 off, I don't know if that 10% applies to the original price, or discounted, but either way it will bring your total for the dreamcast down to under $50 after rebate.

I dunno, try putting in the coupon, then press update, then put in the next code.
Thanks for this MEGA DEAL! It turned out to be $127 after tax and shipping.
BUY THIS BEFORE the 31st! THE $50 rebate runs out!

Ya, mine came out to be $128 after taxes and stuff. I called JC PENNY up and found out that you can't use both promotions at the same time on 1 order. The bundle also comes with a $150 sign-up bonus if you sign up for 24 months of sega net. Oh yeah, teh $50 rebate is only available for a few more days, purchases before Aug 31.

I talked to Sarah at Sega CS about the Sega.net service. She said they send you an email after 30 days asking if you want to continue the service - if you don't reply, they will cancel your service and not charge you anything. Also, they do not ask for a credit card when you sign up for the service. What a great company!

Hooray! I got charged for tax, but it is still a great deal. Thanks.
edit:
I had the same problem as a previous poster did. The discount didn't show up until I left checkout, came back to the shopping cart and re-logged in. Then the discount showed up fine. I should have it in 2-3 days. http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/smile.gif

do they email me you confirmation of shipping? How long does it take from ordering to shipping?
How do you connect to Sega.net through the dreamcast? Is it easy? I'm buying one for someone and they want to know to make sure before they go and buy it. Someone please reply asap http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/smile.gif Thank you!!

Looks like you register for the rebate by calling and then go online with the Dreamcast. How do they verify that you purchased it between 6/4 and 8/31?

Dreamcast has a 33.6 modem built in.
how come when it gets to the Confirmation Screen, the discount doesn't show up, even though i typed the pormotional code in the beginning?

Dreamcast has a 56K modem not a 33.6 modem:
"DESCRIPTION
With stunning 3D graphics, 128-bit processing, and sophisticated 3D audio capabilities, Dreamcast delivers the most immersive and compelling gaming experience available. This ultimate game machine hooks you up to the world via a built-in 56K modem."
it's out of stock according to CSR as of 11:44PM 00.08.29

I just spoke to a CSR and said that I won't receive it until the end of next week. I live in the Bay Area. Anyone getting there's quicker?

Since it is out of stock and we won't receive it till at least next week, will we not be eligible for the $50 online bonus? Because i think they don't bill you until it is available...

JIWC,
Their web site still says "in stock". Did the CSR know that?
lmhuang

Just called (800)222-6161. The CSR asked for my zip code and the catalog #. I gave him my zip code and "XU676-2109A". He said it was still available. It could be regional.
JIWC, did the CSR say it was no longer in stock without asking for your zip code?

Just ordered the Sega Bundle and a Panasonic cordless phone ($119 less 30% - msrsp $149).
I will get it on Friday (local pick-up).
The sales rep told me that as I ordered on Aug 30, I can ask the person at counter while paying to mention that order has been taken on Aug 30 and payment made on Sep 1.
That means that you actually purchased the Sega on Aug 30 or not???
Let's see - I can always return it, however even without the extra $50 it's already a steal. Depends if I'm gonna like it or not.

I had a big mishap and finally got it straight yesterday. I called JC Penny and the guy canceled my old orders (they were sent surface mail for some reason, meaning I wouldn't get it in time for the rebate because if you have it sent to the store, you don't actually pay for it until you pick it up at the store, therefore you don't buy it till then and the rebate ends tomorrow). Then he rung up a new one and had it sent to my home for 50 cents more so he could charge my credit card before August 31st in order to get the rebate from Sega. Cool guy. Also, he informed me that Crazy Taxi was back in stock so I got that for $13.99. Make sure you guys buy it before the 31st cuz if you pick it up at the store after, you might not be able to get the rebate.
my girlfriend called JCpenneys CSR today to ask about the discount code that wasnt taken off the final price and she said we dont honor the CR8 on electronic items and she said other ppl got the code to work but she said that was a site error and the problem was rectified...is she right or am i wrong?

Can't comment on whether the code is intended to apply toward the Dreamcast, but the code still works.

I dont know how you people do it, but I tried from 4 different computer 2 different browsers on each 2 different ips, 3 different credit cards and the discount still wouldnt come up....
Any how i did the order over the phone at around noon today ($111+ s/h) and it was backordered. I called sega and they told me that I gotta sign in befor sep 15th. So lets hope its back in stock by next week or so
okay, here's what happen. I tried ordering through the CSR and she said that it would be available for pickup next Wednesday. But I was told that I don't pay for the Dreamcast yet, until I pick it up. Well, I thought it over and it seems that if i bought it next week, I won't be eligible for the rebate. So i called 5 minutes later, and another CSR (male) told me that it takes a while for the computers to update and told me that the Dreamcasts were out of stock. So I cancelled the order since they wont' have more coming in.
But I'm not sure about other regions, but here in Southern California in the Pasadena area, it may be gone...

Hmm, I ordered a couple of days ago. Penny pincher that I am I wish I had known about the pizza hut deal. then the final price would have been $60.00.
Oh yeah, they charge you tax on shipping and handling. In the state of CA they can't charge tax on shipping. I called and asked them to refund my .77 cents or at least make it two separate items. I am sure a lot of people are getting fleeced (nickel and dimed literally) by this practice.
hope this doesn't sound hypocritical.

I tried ordering from the Site it wouldnt honor the CR8 code or something cause i didnt see the discount taking off, but on the other hand, i called the CSR lady (by the way was really nice) ask for my personal info and ask for the catalog # and coupon code. Then put me on hold and told me the your total is $128.62 picking it up at the nearest JC's...tight huh? how come it dont work on the site?
anyways im in Seattle
she said it will be available for pick up on Sept 7

It still seems to work. I'm in the DC area. Sometimes it doesn't work because the site is overloaded. Or you may need to shut down the browser and come back.
Have you thought about the fact that JCPenney won't charge your credit card until you pick up the order? How's that going to affect your $50 rebate? OTOH, the instructions for the rebate don't seem to require proof of date of purchase.

I went my local store and picked it up yesterday. I used the 30% off $159.99. It was $111.99 plus tax and shipping, total was $128. I then applied for the JC Penney card for another 10% off instantly. So the final price was like $116. Then I noticed the bundle (Dreamcast and the two games) on the recepits are counted as 3 separated items, which the games were $21 each, and the Dreamcast was $68. So I tried to refund the two games today, and guess what? It worked. So the final price for the Dreamcast was $68 plus tax, after the $50 rebate, it's only around $23... This is a great deal man...

Man, you are cold! I swear, I wouldn't have the stuff to turn around and ask for a refund! I'd probably just sell them on eBay if I didn't want them. Good job!
Thanks for the heads up about the 10% off with the JC Penny card.

Yay! My faith in pure stupidity remains unshaken. JCPenny called today to let me know my order was ready for pick up. I get there and look in the bag... 2 CDs and a box that looks like a shirt gift box. Inside is a Hotwheels toy. So I guess no Dreamcast for me this week. Maybe not next week, either. The friendly clerk transferred the order to delivery and re-ordered it for me. He had no totals, so I need to see what it's going to cost. If they don't transfer over the discount, I guess I'll cancel it.
I hate stupid people.
