Have you ever thought

Have you ever thought that you really should have had a different undergraduate degree? I am sitting here cursing the fact that I dont have a BSEE rather than my BA. I would have easily been able to get an engineering degree but I didnt really think that it would be useful to me. Now I realize that I should have gotten such a degree rather than the 1.9999 that I have. Not that it really made a difference for me getting into law school or passing the bar, but a lot of the IP jobs require a BSEE.

So anyone else run into things like this? and if so, what did you do.

well i work in IT/IS and i have a biology/Psychlogy double major, and i kick myself in the butt all the time for not finishing the CS minor

i have a business minor, and wish I got myself a double major instead. Doing IT work in a finanacial company...but that second major could've helped me get into the more money makin work...

i'll let you know in 2 years when i graduate and realize my CompEng degree is worth less than the paper its printed on cause everyone and their mother has an IT related degree.

I regret little about my education, save I could have taken advantages of more opportunities to do research. My true regret is going into IT out of school instead of staying in programming. Its been a rough few years getting back into that work, and getting my MAD SKILLZ back into shape.

I have been thinking about going back to school. See if I can get into nanotech reseach. I figure I got the tech and the math, but am weaker in the quantum mechanics and physical science in general, as well as any mechanical engineering theory involved.

I was just thinking about how much easier I find the mechanical side of engineering compared to Electrical (which I'm in now). I assume mechanical is easier in the whole since more of the topics you deal with "make sense" since there are visual models, and you just have to have a knack for understanding that which you can't see if you do Electrical. We'll see :)

Sometimes I wish I were a Business IT major since they have it really easy in school and don't have to go through all the intense problem solving poo they make ya go through to be an engineer, but to find a great job and a great paying one at that coming out of school with a Business degree is much harder than with Engineering, so being the slacker I am when it comes to finding jobs, Engineering fits me better :)

Going through college as a chemistry major people kept saying things like:

"you could make more $$ in computers..."

Then, when I graduated and went to work with computers, people said:

"you could make more $$ in a chemical lab..."

(They said that in grad school too)

Now that I'm a public school teacher, people just look at me and shake their head... :disa:

I'll figure out what I do in 2 years with my Math degree. because underwater basketweaving sounds really nice right now.

If you haven't looked at being an Actuary, I hear it's not a bad profession. It's no nude-female-model photography job, but it's what a good number of Math majors get into :)

I'm currently in a seasonal recreation job. Come October when my job ends, i'll be looking for a different job. I graduated with a BS in Nutrition and Food Science with the option in Food Service Administration. Can anyone say over paid lunch lady?
