It's a smallish company, about 150 people, and a subsudiary of a much larger company. They make avionics equipment for business aircraft. The current IT department is all of four people, including the manager. I'm going to be learning a LOT too!

Mine is a new position, contract to start, but I was told repeatedly that they're going to try to get Corporate to make it a perm spot. I beat out three other guys for the job. ;)

Oooh! and it's quite a bit more $$$ than I was expecting too. :D My agency has a decent bennies package, so it'll be nice to have medical and vision coverage again.

I start next week, pending the return of my drug test and background check.

That is very cool! Especially the learning part - a job that teaches you what you want to learn is the best kind.
