You were probably just giving it so the dark overlords had enough food. Everyone can read the glyphs in your signature which show that you really are fodder for the vampires. :hihi:
J/k - good job...although I will never do it...unless its going directly into a loved one and necessary to save their life.
I have a severe needle phobia. The last time I had blood drawn, I very nearly passed out. Otherwise, I'd happily donate.

I beat that. I do pass out every time. Needles cause me to run the other way! Last time I had blood drawn it took seven orderlies to hold me down.

I gave blood again last Sunday during my church's blood drive. My blood isn't in heavy demand because I'm AB+, but they still make extensive use of it anyway by splitting up the blood components. They also like my blood because I'm CMV negative. With this last donation, I am 1 pint shy of my 3 gallon pin :)

why's that?
I'd give blood but i'm too freakin' lazy. We used to have blood donation van show up at my old school every once in a while but it always happened when i had a test for some reason so i never had a chance to donate.

Funny thing I like my blood in my body. I would give blood if I had time or knew where to do it.

you mean weigh?
I would give blood at my school but I ain't old enough yet and I'm too lazy to get the permission slip signed and all that other junk
Blood donors make better lovers!
The service fraternity I'm in does a great deal with the Red Cross to get people out to the blood drives once month. In April, we got Outback, McDonalds, and a pizza place to sponsor it, so there was more incentive than EVER to come! (Besides the best incentive of helping someone out).

i dont really understand how people can be so scared of the needle. my mom says that even as a little kid, i'd just sit there, it wouldnt bother me. of course i'd cry as an infant, but not as a 5 or 6 year old.
yeah... i'm a MAN, baby. :o

I don't know what kind of needles you use, but usually they suck up your blood.

I'll never let myself live it down that I said this, but I'm glad you're talking about womenly ways... since the earliest time in between donations is 56 days, I'd be worried about ya if it was the clean donation blood!

Just because I don't trust something doesn't mean I can't sleep with it.

donate platelets everyone! they don't have a shelf-life as long as blood and cancer patients could really use it! when they go through chemo, they platelets get zapped.

I've only been able to donate blood once....
The other times it hadn't been a year since I've been to a malaria area. (Macau, China)

i feel badly because i haven't given blood in a couple years. i used to give every two months -- i'm somewhere over 2 gallons.
but ever since i moved to detroit, i just haven't gotten into the habit of giving, and i swear that every time they do a blood drive by me i'm slightly sick or something :(
i guess i need to make a point to get back into that habit once i go to new york.
