I love O.A.R. :D

If Guster is unsigned, I gotta include them too after seeing them in concert a little over a year ago... still a big fan!

Who's your favorite artist that not many people know about?

O.A.R. is awesome, man! They're a group of guys from Columbus, so they played near OSU all the time before they "got big". I've seen them a few times there and even in Texas while they were touring. I hopped a ride with a guy here in Houston that was visiting from Miami. He was playing some OAR in his CD player and I was like, WOW, you know about OAR?!? :P

Oh, and I forgot to add that OAR has signed with Atlantic Records, so your choice is invalid! ;)
The guitarist from Guster graduated from my high school :)
One of my friends is a huge OAR fanatic, but i havent heard their music before.
Guster, on the other hand, they played at our high school when i was a senior. Performed for about 1.5 hours. Good stuff, and i hear they're getting a much larger fanbase now.

they might have just signed a record deal with a major label (not sure how major, even at that), but one band i've really liked for a while now is open:hand.
i think they have a pretty solid following overe here in SoCal, but i'm not sure about anywhere else. i'd put up the link to their site, but i think it's getting worked on right now because it only links to their message board...

Yeah, Guster is signed with Reprise and managed by Nettwerk. They rock. I've seen them live 19 times so far. :)
My favorite unsigned band is The Whatnot (http://www.thewhatnot.com). They are very Guster like.
The Waking Hours (http://www.wakinghours.com) is a great band from the west coast (methinks)... you may have even heard their song "Sunshine" (I heard it on a commercial for The Real World once).
http://www.wakinghours.com/mp3 for their mp3's -- download Sunshine, Whispered News, and Used To It and you might find yourself a new band (and find yourself downloading the rest of their songs!) :D easy to do, check it yo!

What about Granian.
Granian is really good too! I heard their song "Whole Again" by accident, and yep, good undiscovered stuff ;)
