All my light sockets have those compact flourescent light bulbs in them. Since I've moved in December I have only 2 working out of the 6-8 total installed. What's up with that? These things are supposed to last years!!!! The regular incandescent ones last longer that these POS. And they're are expensive going for like 7-10 bucks a pop.

One manufacturer is Sunbeam but they don't even have light bulbs on their website for me to complain to. How's everyone else experience with these?

Yeah, I use those bulbs too, but Mine have been lasting years. The spiral looking ones right?

Yeah the spiral ones. I just went to target and got a 4 pack from 16 bucks made by GE. Let's see how long these ones last before they go kaput. Hopefully not for years.

My experience has varied > does not much matter if they are the cheaper $3 ones or the more expensive $15 > just some last and some don't.

I have found that the ones that I let burn 24/7 and NEVER turn off ( my lights in the alley ) they last a long time. In the basement they have very short duration.

A lot of the more expensive light bulbs actually guarantee that they will work for a certain period of time. If they dont last that long they will replace it for free. Chek the back of the packages to see if it works for you.

Yeah, I read something interesting. They say you shouldn't use them in a situation where you'll turn the lights on and off a lot. They work best in situations where they'll be on for at least 5 minutes at a time, otherwise they wear out faster.

The ones I have are in my outside soffit lighting which are on all night and a lamp that I also leave on all night.

Well I don't know the warranty on a Sunbeam brand but it's not even listed as a product they make. The bulb has a dat on it too. 11/2001 which is I assume it's "Born On Date".
