View Full Version : Gigli - OMG it is BAD

Ever seen a car accident?

Ever seen a trainwreck?

Ever have the feeling that something is so gruesome and horrible and you can't help but keep watching?

Ever laugh at parts of a movie that weren't supposed to be funny but were because the writing/acting was SO bad (like a Kevin Costner movie?)

Go see Gigli then - it's almost as bad as Freddy got Fingered!

Apparently the word is already out on this one - the opening weekend it only grossed 3-4 mil at the box office (and it cost about $59 million to make).

So much for J-lo and Ben-lo working together :P

You saw it? You didn't know already it was going to be bad? Well the worst movie I've seen is Little Nicky.

I was forced to see this thanks to a mutual friend who really wanted to see it (I vehemently protested but to no avail). My wife was like, "What the hell, why not?" and it started and went from bad to worse very quickly. We were four of literally 12 people total in the theater. I didn't stay for the whole thing - I left and watched the ending to LXG instead.

blah. I'm going to see it anyway. Ok, not at the theater. hehe But probably online at least :)

Pure STANK... that's what it was.

I've got to throw my vote in for Cabin Boy. With Godzilla 2000 coming in a close second.

Is it so bad it's good? I haven't seen Gigli, but your comment reminds me of a great scene from the movie, "Ghost World." The two main characters, cynics to the bone, Rebecca and Enid are marveling at the horrendously charming set of their high school prom:

Rebecca: This is so bad it's almost good.
Enid: This is so bad it's gone past good and back to bad again.

ok...I have no desire to see Battlefield Earth. Hmmm...I guess what was the worst movie you saw volutarily without being bribed or forced to see?

Hey, Godzilla 2000 wasn't close to being the worst movie ever... it was entertaining at least, good special effects, and somewhat scary (Madison Square Garden filled with the hatching eggs)... the downfall is that Matthew Broderick isn't hero material, but Jean Reno is THE MAN!

No, you're thinking of Godzilla from 1998. I'm talking about the following...

And boy was it bad. Memorable line: "I guess everybody's got a little Godzilla in them"

first of all, kevster, i'm sorry, i cannot feel sorry for you. you should have known better, and no matter how much your friend pleaded with you, you should have had the good sense to knock him out cold. :D

i think i'm fairly good at distinguishing crap from quality, so i generally don't see "bad" movies, per se. but every once in a while, i see one that just makes me go WTF. the two that come immediately to mind are "Fatal Instinct" (cut me some slack, i saw it on cable when i was a kid), and "The Mummy." people will dispute me on The Mummy, but i seriously hate it. i didn't want to watch it in the first place because i knew it would be garbage, but my friends forced me to go, and i swear i almost walked out of it.

OMG. I've been trying to forget that movie. And I freely admit to enjoying his show Get a Life (which I just discovered can be bought on dvd. amazing),and his fine work in Groundhog Day, but Cabin Boy was just awful. I think the only memorable part of the movie was Letterman's cameo..."Would ya like to buy a monkey?"

The reason that part of the movie is memorable is because Dave mentions it quite frequently on his show. He'll say, "Hey, did you know I'm in the movies too?" :heh:

speaking of which, that was the most painful movie i had to sit through, and what makes me mad is how popular it is

Freddy Got Fingered is by far the worst movie i've ever seen.
So bad I threw away the VCD I burned.
However, I haven't seen Battlefield Earth.

People Under The Stairs and Boxing Helena were pretty horrible too.

Game of Death because of the fake Bruce Lee and Assassins are the worst movies I remember watching. but I haven't seen Gigli, Battlefield Earth, or Freddy for Fingered.

And the winner is....

I think I've only seen a few of these all the way thru (i.e. on purpose). On the other hand, I've probably seen bits and pieces of half of them due to channel surfing and pausing on channels like TNT, TBS, USA, and of course, ScfFi..."omg, wtf is this? wow, this looks reeeeaaaallly bad." And you end up watching for 10 minutes just to try to figure out if they were serious, or for the amusement value (like the scene from Hercules in New York with the guy in the bear suit...that was supposed to be a real bear, right?)

Actually she had a cameo role on CSI last season too - playing of all things a Las Vegas Club socialite.
