i'm in hayward now (http://www.gotapex.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=60662&perpage=30&highlight=hayward&pagenumber=2 ). i'm always amazed how quickly i miss my friends and family. i like california but can never figure out what to do when i'm here by myself on business. i just went and saw american wedding. hopefully, i'll take in a giants game tomorrow night and get some good sushi. maybe if i buy tickets, another apexer will join me so i don't feel like a lonely loser like i did at the theater tonight. passwird? anyone?
maybe i'll take off the ring and join the other team for the week. JK!!!
sigh....i'm feeling morose and i'm not even drunk. lol. does that mean i am lucky to have such good friends and family to miss or does it mean i'm pathetic because i can't go exploring and enjoy myself without having someone to share it with?
anyhow, one bright spot is that there is an in-and-out across the street from the hotel i'm staying in. i'm going to hit it up tomorrow....time to dig up the thread about the secret menu!

Yeah, that sucks. Hayward isn't that great. I live on the other side of the hills from there. I'm actually going to the Giants game tomorrow with a wedding party so that could be cool. The best thing to do if you're bored is wonder around Berkley or San Francisco. It's somewhat relaxing and if you like people watching, those are the places to do it. There's also tons of food available around, you just have to know what you want and look for it.

I don't really care for Hayward either. Actually, I don't care for much of the East Bay at all. I used to live there, but now, I can't really stand the place. Something in the atmosphere just makes me ill at ease.

It's not the best place in the world and the atmosphere is becoming very uppity. When I came back from school, it took some time to get re-adjusted to that. On the flip side there are a whole lot worse places to be. I'm far enough from Hayward that I don't go there that often.

I work in the East Bay (pretty close actually, in Pleasanton) and I find it utterly boring here. If you're looking for things to do definitely hit up SF. Lots of good places to eat and you can always go to GG park and see lots of interesting things going on.

Have you gone to the Wharf or Pier 39 or whatever it's called. The got an arcade :) And they have good clam chowder and fresh lobsters to eat. Hmmm...I don't remember anything else I did in SF except go to the arcade in the Pier and at Metreon.

Seriously. BART is the way to go if there's a station close to where you're going.
I can't think of worse things in the Bay Area than the Bay Bridge during rush hour (23 hours of the day mind you) or the Nimitz parking lot.

I don't live in the East Bay. I live in the South Bay. Pleasanton is a pretty small city as far as I know ... I only know where the restaurants are and how to get to and from work.:D

THX!!! i took the bart and was impressed with the system. i had to drive two miles to the south hayward station and pretty much chilled all of the way to the park. coming back was a tiny bit more complicated. it was well worth paying the 9.50 for the ride.
also, i've never seen so many hot asian girls. in michigan, there are hardly any asians so i don't run across very many. tonight....'nuther story entirely!

Yeah, $9.50 is well worth not having to drive, deal with parking, or deal with traffic after a game.

Oh, wait... That's another story. :shifty:

'nuther thing i saw was quite a few black kids with nascar jackets. i'm pretty sure i've never seen that in michigan. black people here wouldn't be caught dead in a dle earnhardt jacket or whatever.
