Wow. I actually had an all-around good day... in fact, I can't point to a single thing that went wrong with it. :shrug:
It started off with my being afraid that I would hit traffic, but for the most part, everything was smooth sailing getting to work. Mind you, I have to take the 101 past the 405 and the 170, so that is an accomplishment at around 7:00 AM.
When I finally got to work, I found out that I actually have an extra class day for one of my periods (they are a bit behind going into finals). Also, while at work, we had a meeting discussing our students and giving them awards. Well, as it turns out, all but one of the students up for awards were in one of my two classes. Not to mention, ALL the students who won the awards were in my classes.
While leaving work, I realized that I had forgotten to leave something to be copied for tomorrow, so I headed back. I didn't consider this a bad thing because there was a really hot woman sitting out on a bench in the shade. That's right, chica! I was checkin' you out! ;) Anyway, on my way back to to drop the papers off, I ran into one of my history professors. She couldn't remember my name, but she could remember my senior thesis from over two years ago! She said I did a really good job on it (apparently, good enough to note), and she told me that if I needed a recommendation for grad school, I just had to ask. That, and she was clearing some of her shelves of extra books, and so I got about 4 free books--three of them are replacements for books I've lost or left at home.
Of course, on my way back out, I got to check the hottie out again. :D
Okay, okay. Now, the last thing is that when I got home (one of the things that has been bothering me is that I only have a week more of work, so I don't know where the rest of my paychecks will be coming from), I had a sticky on my door saying, "So-and-so called about offering you a job." Well, I was too late to call back yesterday, but it looks like a legitimate placement agency, so hopefully, my good day will spill over.
In the meantime, my little period of hell is about to start. I have about 44 5-page essays to grade in the next day or two. :bawl:
