Gary Coleman on California ballot
(CNN) -- Gary Coleman, child star of the sitcom "Diff'rent Strokes," has placed his name among a host of other celebrities in the running for California governor.
Coleman's candidacy was engineered by the East Bay Express, an Oakland-area newspaper, which paid his $3,500 filing fee, collected the necessary petition signatures and is promoting his candidacy in protest of the scheduled vote aimed at recalling Gov. Gray Davis.

Bringing back bad memories James?
I just got excited when I saw "I live in Pittsburgh" ... then I realized it was you :P
Well, Minnesota got Jessie Ventura a little while ago, a year or two after I moved from Minneapolis, but he turned out to be not bad!

I don't think Mr Ventura could be governor of California. We're one of the largest economies in the world. Just look at how one dumb governor hurt us real bad.
Would you go as far as saying that the any of current candidates would be better than this one bad governor?

If anyone can justify why G. Davis is a bad govenor without any name-calling (i.e. "He's a moron/idiot/dumbass, etc..."), I'm willing to listen.
I mean, was there anything he could've done to avoid:
1) the energy crisis
2) the dot.com bust
3) unemployment b/c of 2)
4) growing deficit b/c of all of the above
I honestly don't know how anyone can tackle those problems without someone getting the shaft. (of course, ultimately, it'll be the tax payer... )

And Springer decided against running...so dodged that bullet.
I heard you need 3500 bucks and 65 signatures and you too can run.
yep, our ex-governor Tom Ridge is now the head of homeland security, and founder of the color codes of security :P I dunno, when I hear the name "Tom Ridge" that just elicits the thought of a strong minded politician. Someone with the name "Doug Ghoul" just wouldn't make it, and this is my belief that you should vote on whose name sounds the best (that's why I picked "Bush" over "Dukakis" in '88 in kindergarten :stupid: )

Yeah if he didn't increase the state spending and expand the government.
Put it this way, I would vote for Gary Coleman just to get Gay Davis out of there.
Oh yeah and he lied about the state deficit ($12 billion my a$$) last year so he could get elected and bring California the junk.

basically, California needs someone who has a strong will, a pure heart, and a born leader to bail them out of trouble.
...so, who's on the ballot again? ;)
