I have some little moths that I see in my house occasionally. They're responsible for ruining some of my suits. I kill them when I can, but they are fast little buggers. Think a venus will kill em?

Just fill the house with Raid.

Dude did you hook your suits up wit some cedar? That will keep those moths away. Um, I think venus flytraps would work, or a pitcher plant.

By the way, they say that moths get the blame for a lot of damage done by crickets.

bwahshahahahahahahahahahahahaha

i suppose. anything that flies in there will get stuck to the "stickiness" and not be able to get free

Hmmm try putting some frogs in the closet. They'll eat the moths. ;)

But what will eat the frogs once I'm done with them?

Foxes. Then you can get fox eating gorillias and then when the winter comes the gorillas will freeze to death. :D

I ripped it off of the Simpsons, it's from the episode where Bart shoots the bird in Nelson's yard and he takes the eggs and becomes thier mom. Then the eggs turn out to be bird eating lizards, etc.

I think venus fly traps work by triggering sensory hairs inside the flower, so it will close irrespective of what is in the flower. If you're going to get one, just make sure that it is big enough to swallow the moth... other than that, I don't see why it won't work.

plants do not "SWALLOW" anything...geze. They're plants.

The flies/whatever get stuck in a sticky substance and then get "absorbed"

Err... Sounds like a BAD idea. At any rate, I'll buy a couple flytraps and see what happens. I want to see some dead moths being "absorbed" by the plant.

Actually, Airen gave me the response I was looking for. I know there are a fair amount of Simpsons fans on here.

Ok, the reason the venus fly traps work is because they give off a smell that attracts FLYS hence why it is called a venus FLY trap. Once any insect lands there it triggers the trap and then a modified solution breaks down the insect so that it can be absorbed.

Pitcher plants use a sweet sickly smell to attract insects and then they fall into the pitcher. The sides of the pitcher are coated with materials that prevent insects from crawling out...thus they drown and then they are "digested" by the liquid.

Ok... So what the moths like? I guess I need to find a cashmere moth trap plant.

venus flytraps require very high temeratures and humidity levels to survive. They are tropical afterall. When you see them sold they are almost always in little plastic greenhouses. Unless you live in a very tropical area (think Florida) and don't use your airconditioner you may have a difficult time keeping these little buggers alive.

Can't you set up a light bulb or something next to fly paper or get one of those zapper things.
