Anyone feel that when a friendship is slammed into the ground and blown apart, that there is a way to get the friendship back? Or is it not worth the heartache or the time?

It depends on the situation and whether or not both parties are willing to make amends.
When I was younger, I once stopped talking to my best friend for 6 months because I found out that he had been lying to me. Once we started talking again, our friendship was even stronger and more fulfilling than before.
Also, I'm kind of going through this with my ex right now. We've both done things to hurt each other, and at this point, I'm not sure if we will ever be able to mend the strong friendship that we once had. In my mind, though, it is definitely worth the effort.

:stupid: Depends on what the fall-out was over. I am a big supporter of trying to fix/revive friendships. However, there is absolutely no point in fighting for a hollow victory.

I'm actully going through that right now. I guess you can say my bestfriend and I just started "talking" again, it's REALLY bland, with no feeling, it seems like out conversation are like crap right now. I really hope it gets better, becuase I really miss her. But if it wasn't meant for us to be bestfriends, that so be it. But I do believe that you shouldn't give up. Others might think different...

Thanks for the replies so far. I lost my best/f because his now wife and I are no longer friends. I didn't think that with her and I no longer being friends there was anyway for him and I to remain friends. I miss him dearly and wish we could at least be on talking terms to say "Hey what's up?" "How you doin?" etc... But who knows if that'll ever happen. I just want him to know that I think about him and his now wife often, and I miss our talks. Maybe someday he and I will talk again, but as mentioned by someone else, he has to want to say hello too. *sigh*
