saw a commercial on tv last night and had to check it out via google...
this is the coolest dumb toy ever. or maybe the dumbest cool toy ever. for those who don't check out the link, they are pill-shaped toys with magnets in them and characters painted on them... another "collect-them-all" stroke of genius.
australian toy, just now available in the usa, and i think there are different characters here than in australia and great britain. there are already some of the foreign ones available on ebay, and you can get a six-pack o beanz at amazon for $5.99 ... none of the cool accessories (carrying case and racing tracks) are available yet.
anyway, it's the perfect toy for eg, who's favorite pastimes include stacking things, playing with magnets, racing marbles on homemade tracks, etc. if you need a gift idea for someone under the age of 10, i think this is it.
i think... i might... need... to collect... them... all.
heck, at a buck a pop, even on ebay, i could get all 70, and in 20 years the complete first series will pay eg's way through college (like prm's transformers and muscle men.)
okay, no... but it would at least buy him some stringed instruments :)
