View Full Version : i got me 2 job interviews

Seeing that my current job is slow and i'm not learning a damn thing, i decided to test my luck in the job market. Despite hearing stories from my friends who are having difficulties landing an interview, I have managed to get myself 2 interviews. One is with Ascent Media and the other is with Universal - Television division both in finance/accounting positions. I think both jobs will be a salary pay cut, but nothing significant. Although I am lucky to have a job that pays me to do nothing, there comes a point where I need to be busy and most importantly, challenged. For those of you who have switched jobs recently, what was your reasoning?

i just wasted a little over three hours at two temp agencies today. good luck to you. so cal jobs suck.

The headhunter i met with last night is forwarding my resume to Ascent Media (http://www.ascentmedia.com) and Guitar Center (http://www.guitarcenter.com) so I should hear later today or tomorrow if they want to set up an interview :)

I have another interview with Universal Television on Monday night. Yippeeeee

i bet the universal one would be cool. or guitar center. both probably have some fringe benefits.

Universal i'm skeptical about because they are being SOLD. Since there are so many different offers for various departments, going to Universal Television may not be such a hot idea, especially if they're bought out and merged with a larger company who won't need a guy who started 3 months prior. It IS the entertainment industry, however, and that's where i would like to be working. We'll see how the interview goes first :)

so, i had my interview with Universal Television last night. Met with 2 guys and i had thought i bombed the interview with the 1st guy. The 2nd guy and i got along great...anyway..they said they'd let me know by the end of the week...

This morning i got a call from HR and i already landed the 2nd round interview with 3 different people. oh joy, the pressures.

Is it bad that i'll be wearing the same suit but with a different colored shirt? I have never been to a place where i actually had to go for a 2nd round interview

even if you meet the same guy, i bet he won't notice. i wouldn't worry about it.

i don't wear suits to interviews anymore.
