:hmm: I am about to buy a mobo and cpu from newegg.com and came across their extended warrenty options at checkout. http://secure.newegg.com/app/ExtendedWarranty.asp I was wondering if it's worth getting that extended warrenty from them for $18.72?

I'm buying the following:
ASUS Motherboard for Intel Pentium 4 / Celeron Processors, 800Mhz FSB Model# P4P800 Deluxe Retail

Intel Pentium 4 / 2.4CGHz 512k socket 478 Hyper Threading Technology 800 MHz FSB - RETAIL

thanks for any info

Well since both items are retail, I dont think its worth the extra 18.72. Retail Intel cpus come with a 3 year warranty already.

From my dealings with them their RMA process is very very nice, and it extends beyond 14 days I think?

I never buy extended warranties for anything, primarily because most of the components/electronics I bought aren't high enough quality to warrant it, so if it breaks after warranty, chances are there's another deal on a better model by that time  knock on wood!

I'd definitely buy an extended warranty on something $700+, like a big LCD screen, but a mobo and cpu should be fine :)
