Now it seems pretty trivial to say that I think the girl I was falling head over heels for is just playing me for a fool :( But just to get it off my chest... this is the girl who is friends with my boss' daughter. Yep, playing with fire again! This girl tells me how much she's missed me over the week (I visit my college on the weekends this semester), and we'll hold hands, kiss, go out to movies/walk, etc., but I don't know how to tell if she's REALLY in this or just in it to have some company. She said what was stopping her from starting a relationship was my boss' daughter (a friend of both of ours, makes sense), and some mental problems she didn't want me to have to always worry about her. Bah, both can be worked with, seeing as how I have mental problems too and the boss' daughter's my friend as well :) But we'll see... I just don't want to feel like an idiot if I find out she's been playin' me for a fool! A CHOSEN FOOL! ;)

For a lady that's been to all the clubs, i'm surprised this is the first time u've ever bar hopped. bar hopping is fun as long as you go with the right people. After many outings though, I began to realize that i was wasting too much money doing it :)

Yes and no. But it does get to a point where spending $6 a drink doesn't seem reasonable when me and the same friends could be at home drinking the same drinks for 1/10 the price. I'm still hanging out with the same people, just in a different atmosphere. I dunno, i guess i got tired of bars and clubs. eh.

:stupid:
I still think it is crazy how much money people blow in bars. I mean, granted, it is cool if you are having a good time doing it, but I would rather not feel the regret of dropping over $100 on myself and not having anything show for it the next day.

Never got plastered, at least I didn't. There is only one time I dropped more than $100 on myself, but that included a nice dinner and about 5 hours of drinking afterwards (mostly cocktails and wine). Typically I would only spend $20-$30, but my friends used to drink twice as much.
It took me a while to actually sit down and think about what I was spending each week, and I finally came to the conclusion that I would rather 1) save that money or 2) spend that money on a nice meal (especially in college when most of my meals were from a cafeteria).

I'm bigger than you. :P
Seriously, I can drink about 6-7 drinks before I start feeling it, and I start sobering up again in about 3 hours. Each drink is around $6, not counting the tip--which I think is where a lot of the money goes. So, about $60-70, just for drinks. The $30 extra accounts for unforeseen :dodgy: expenses along the way. :shifty:

That is correct. But i am saving money for a House. Then the rest of the money is going towards my record label. =D
So, what is everybody's plans for Turkey Day? I'll be chilling here in SoCal with the relatives and the 40 pounds of turkey they usually purchase. I'm expecting to eat a lot and drink heavily. My brother and his girlfriend are coming down from the Bay area for the holiday as well. Should be fun times since I haven't met his current girlfriend yet. Maybe i should bring a date to the dinner too. I can hire her a few blocks from here...

You know, i still haven't been able to connect to Footactions craptacular website. I guess they've fired eveyrone in their IT department for failing to have a server(s) that can handle the amount of traffic that the site must have received.

Ha! Im back. Stayed up playing video games. Now im contemplating what to do and we all know that can be bad. Guess I didnt put in enuff work at the gym earlier cuz I feel like rearranging the room. Wireless this and that makes the possibilities endless. What are peoples rooms like?
Mine is small, 10 1/2' by 10' and the closet is 6' by 3' or so. A full size bed and industrial looking computer desk and one small dresser.
My room is basically done in deals. Everything from my computer, monitor, surround speakers and captains chair to my memory foam mattress pad and pillows and comforter. I love my new goose down comforter. :) it's so.. um comforting. :hmm: Much better for the cold weather than this silk comforter my parents got me. You can find some Laker stuff, framed autograph from MJ (Magic), video games, books, DVD's, CD's on my shelves. A big 3'x4' Star Wars themed cyberchrome print covers one of the walls and I need new curtains on the other. I need a new plant and should find some matching sheets and stuff. Recently added shelves and a 2nd bar to hang more clothes in the closet. So now I have 1 and 1/2 hanger bar thingies. I dont think I have too much clothes but I have less than half a bar to go when stuff is being washed and I dont think I can fit it when its all clean. Maybe I should get a bigger dresser. Maybe I should get a bigger room.
Gotta go to work so it would be good to get more than 4 hours sleep tonight. Oh well. We'll see.

Instead of having the services in Dallas where she passed away, they have transported her to the family farm for burial in the family tomb this Saturday. Guess where the family farm is? Regent, North Dakota! What was the high temperature there yesterday? 19 degrees Fahrenheit! And don't forget the wind chill from the 8-10mph winds bringing that high temp down to a balmy 9-10 degrees!
I have to stay here and work this weekend (I seriously couldn't get out of it) but she and the rest of her family are all flying in and gathering for the services this Saturday. I can only hope she stays warm since I can't be there to warm her up. :(

of course, we could start with the logos we were thinking of when we first started this. or just a simple shirt design, just to make people think when they see it. im gonna be drawing up some stuff soon.
well?
I would be interested in something like this. Personally, I think that it should just be a plain white t-shirt and on the left breast (if you're wearing the shirt) should just be some kind of logo and perhaps some text to explain it (though that would require a bit of text).
i would pay up to $10 for my shirt too. Nobody should have to burden the cost of it all.

I'm just up finishing a paper that's a semester late. Whee. Actually, I already wrote it, but it got lost, and to avoid taking the F, I have to send in as much as I can rebuild. Long sotry. Too angry to deal with it. Even so, it only drops my GPA to a 3.21 but that still sucks since it should be much higher. Oh well.

I'm angry over the snow the northeast has been receiving this week. Why couldnt it snow when I have school? Of course it has to snow when I'm on spring break. I'm really bitter over the weather the last few days.
Food poisoning sucks. I got home last night and felt so incredibly ill. I drugged myself to sleep only to wake up at 3:30am. That's typical though. I sleep at 10:30 because I'm feeling really sick, and then wake up 5 hours later because I can't sleep more than 5-6 hours a night, even after taking some medicine. Oh well, now I can lurk around the forums before the people on the east coast can start posting :)

BBQ'd again and the Lakers won... again. And again I did nothing today. So I started laundry, cleaning and installing my car stereo tonight. The factory one got stuck and after an hour or so I started my Hulk routine and smashed it till it came out. :smash: It's in a couple of pieces and I can see where it got stuck now. :)
I finally got it all hooked up and the thing opened up and the CD went in but no lights. Just beeps. Double checked everything and now it's around midnight and the connections are all good. Thought maybe I got a defective headunit. Unhooked the amp blah blah blah and no go.
Start checking all the fuses again and  found a popped fuse. There are 2 fuses for the stereo and when my radio broke I thought there was only one and checked only one... So basically my stock radio was probably good. There's a lesson in all this but I dont know what it is.
Anyways gave me excuse to upgrade and stuff.

Ugh. Can't sleep. Dunno if it was the relatively late coffee at Mom's or what, but I just can't get to sleep and stay there. I've been waking up every 20 minutes or so. Kinda frustrating. I did get a solid 10 hours Sunday night though, so I guess it balances out. I imagine it will be an earlyish bedtime tonight. After my frazzling bout of insomnia about a year ago, I've become a big fan of getting enough sleep on a regular basis.
So. Three unexpected hours to do whatever. Hmm...
5:31 am...I've been going to bed around this time for about a week now. I have nothing to do since school got out. I've looked for a job but have been rejected everywhere I've applied. My girlfriend went home for the summer as well. Summer school starts on Thursday and I have 10 am classes. I hope once I start getting up that early it'll throw my sleep schedule back into wack. If not, I'm definately ****ed.

my second entry in this particular incarnation of mine....
(as entered in my glorified blogger, copy and paste)
just got back from NYC, almost a month after my last visit. a lot cooler in the city tonight, thank gawd. i for one dont particulary like the smell of the city, especially in the hot months. i met up with a few friends from out of town, had dinner at a french restaurant, and had a very scrumptious meal. i was particularly impressed (ok, enamored!) by the server (her name was Clarisse), for she had a very nice GENUINE smile. she was very attentive (as what servers usually should be anyway), but she had this smile that seemed very heart-felt. you can tell if someone is simply forcing a smile thru their lips, but you can see her smile with her eyes as well. Yes, she had a French accent, which i found very appealing. i realized that what i know of the french language are simply derived from the TV shows ive watched and heard, as well as movies ive seen (Amelie comes to mind). It never occured to me how much lilting it sounds when you hear it spoken in person. Its almost like the language is being sung...
(end transmission)
well, im glad that night owls still perch now and again on this little tree we call the Midnight Society. im actually surprised that, even after the original posts (and maybe the original poster ;) ) are gone, people still catch on aboot what this is all aboot, and are able to follow the few simple rules laid down many moons ago.
the other incarnation would have been proud... :neartears
:P
welcome to all fellow night owls, old and new! let us keep on writing in silent solitude, and keep the midnight flame that burns the dark night brighter.

Man this sucks, 3:41am, I have to be at my first of 4 1.5hrs classes tomorrow in a little over 4hrs and I am wide awake. Lying in bed for over 90mins and still can't fall asleep. Stuipd aerobed with a hole in it that just got bigger.
Tomorrow is going to suck.
So i just finished watching Hellboy. What a crappy movie. I mean, if they had shown Selma Blair nekkid my opinion may actually be more favorable. This movie sucked.
And why is it so goddamn hot out. My car is gone until the middle of the week. I'm not fully recovered from my flu. Michigan freaking lost to the crappy guys from Notre Dame and these pretzels are making me thirsty.

Im only up because my stupid quest for the ipod continues. It's like the 5 hours I've wasted researching and ordering it totally wipes out any money I might save. *Grumble x2*

Once again my quest for the ipod has ended in me purchasing other things. This time some boots and a printer. Add those to DVD player, xtra battery/case for camera, books and some clothes. I am one coupon away from a 20 or 40gig i/hiPod and then I will be up late ripping music.
Bwahahahaaahaaa...ouch!
Lower back pain is back (get it) so I grabbed some advil and it works as advertised. I don't usually do medicine but my need was great. *sigh* Im getting old....

Just got back from Hollywood Billiards where me and about 75 Australian folk watched the Grand Finals of Aussie Rules Football. The Brisbane Lions, 3 time defending Premiership champions, were upset by Port Adelaide 113-73 who dominated the entire 3rd and 4th quarter. Awesome and violent game with fights every minute or so. Heck, there were punches thrown before the first bounce.
Need to sleep before my marathon of Halo and Texas Hold 'Em in about 8 hours.

I hate Marketing class.
There's this kid in my group that is a complete *******. I did the entire first portion of the project that was due on thursday. All I asked him to do was to make a cover sheet for the project. He misspells my name As Stanky instead of Stanley. I really doubt that was by mistake.
Then in class, he told another kid in my group that he talks too much and should be quiet. That kid barely talks in any and its usually just to me. The ******* then mocks the teachers english because he put "Cost of Goods Solds" on the board.
The only common theme between the 3 events is that we're all chinese and the ******* isnt. So I'm wondering, is this guy just an ass or is he a racist?

hes just an ass...
hell i was called a racist because i wouldnt open the doors to the store after hours, when a black woman approched.
"can you open the doors so i can get to my car?"
"no, we are closed for the night and i cannot reopen the doors"
"wtf is wrong with your, racist"
and she stormed away...
ya i hate work...
Slaus: I say you take it up with the teacher. If the teacher won't do anything, then address it with the head(s) of the department. Somebody will go and do something.
I need to start sleeping again. Just got back from a full day of Halo and Texas Hold 'Em. Won 7 bucks this time around, which basically paid for my food for the day. No complaints here.
Time to go watch Naked Gun 33 1/3. Cyas!

Here I am again. 5:06 am PST, haven't slept a wink. Wishing I could. Another night of reformatting, this time my dad's computer.
What did you all do this weekend? I didn't sleep much. Beat Star Wars: Battlefront playing co-op with a friend. Beat Halo on Legendary mode. Watched the Angels and Dodgers clinch their respective divisions. Watched Notre Dame lose (and that's why they're not entitled to be in the top 25), watched Ohio State lose.
gee, doesn't seem like too many are posting in the weee hours of the morning anymore.

I'm here you bastard!
I was at a bar earlier and two dudes were trying to hook up with the same girl. She was loving the attention, and spent a lot of the time talking about how cool she was. She declared to them that she was mighty funny, and that she had a joke for them. She said, "what's the difference between a *blank* and a bucket of schitt?" The guys look at eachother in wonder. She says "The bucket of schitt!" and then laughs like she just won the young comedians special of San Diego. I rolled by eyes and fought the urge to yell "IT's 'THE BUCKET' NOT THE BUCKET OF SCHITT!!! THE JOKE DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE THE WAY YOU SAID IT!!" But I didn't. I drank my brew and left. I didn't have the patience this night to drink more than one brew at that place. Not when the scent of ignorant ho was in the air.

Been up all night working the second of three papers/projects due this week. This after my Sunday, which is not much of a day of rest for me. Not to mention that I should be sleeping a little more to prepare myself for a monster drive this weekend. Oh well. I'll knock out what I can in an hour, sleep for four, and go to class then.

When you can pull 2 jobs/40 hours a week on top of 5 classes for a full year let me know how you feel ;) All I have to say is that is one of the most enduring pains I have ever felt in my life. I survived, but just barely. Just ask Slaus...I was ALWAYS sick during that final year of school.
So it's 6:03am. I am debating going to watch the sunrise somewhere...of course the biggest problem is that i live on the west coast and there is no good place to watch the sunrise...I would go to the top of Griffith Park, but they close down all the roads leading to the top of the mountain between sunset and sunrise...BASTARDS

Damn I am addicted to poker, 7am and I have been playing for mostly 7-8hrs straight. I am having a great night though :D cept for two horrible beats(one was a split other one was just unlucky, worst beat I have had in a coupel weeks).
So the split was this, I had AJ vs A10, jQ5 flopps all hearts, I have the ace of hearts, guy bets I call, A on the turn, he bets, I go all in for a lot of money, he calls, with a 10% chance of winning. He has no hearts, only a King or a queen helps him. Of course he hits the queen we split a big pot.
The bad beat was this, 44 flop is 942, flopped the trips no flush, turn was a 2, I have the boat fours over twos' I call a guys bets, a jack on the river, he bets I raise he raises I go all in for a good ammount, he had 99. Had me the whole way, and was the last hand I thought of. I knew three hands beat me(99, JJ, 22). And he had the nines. I almost snapped.
Back to poker I go :D
