studying for my last midterm for the semester - even as a grad student, I can't seem to drop the habit of pulling the all nighter before the exam - and this one's on random variables and statistics in electrical engineering for those of you who care. the two exams i took before were very hard although the one i got back (microwaves) today, i surprisingly did very well on. this one seriously scares me though, so hopefully i'll do well enough for a B, the minimum grade required towards counting the credit for my MS requirements.

Thank you all for making my little legacy thread alive - i am quite proud of her (and all of you)!!

though my name isnt the same anymore, and that same name had already been a ghost for years here (postcount with no posts? the magic of hacking - ah well, things happen, and we all accept the things we can not change), its great to know there are people that still share the same regard for the deepest of nights as me.

all who have contributed here over the years give me an abundant joy everytime i visit G|A. A good majority (maybe 95%) have stayed true to the simple rule ive laid down before (even if those posts are again no longer in existence) : Keeping the post just between 12midnight to 6AM (your time). Any topic. As long as its not neffing just to raise the postcount. These hours are sacred, it is for us the conscious, when the waking world slumbers deep.

Ive read thru the posts, and i appreciate people chiming in those times to keep ourselves company, for whatever reason, even as we are all alone in these ungodly hours, even as we are all a distance apart, with just maybe a background music, or just simply accompanied by the sound of clicking keys, followed by the silence we all hear in our minds.

we are awake at these hours, when our beds awaits us, when our dreams are put on hold. We will dream again, we will fight our nightmares, but not tonight. Not yet.

Because we are part of the Midnight Society. By choice, by design, by happenstance. By the absence of peace of mind, as restlessness weigh in. By the desire of peace of mind, where the quiet solitude is sought after and attained.

These are the hours we are brothers and sisters, these are the hours we are not alone, even in that quiet solitude. There is the night that stays with us throughout, and softly she sways us into our coming day.

Do we call on the sandman to dust our eyes, or do we continue to watch the sands in the hourglass fall? Who knows, that is for each of us to answer later on. What we know, is that at the moment we are the members of the Midnight Society.

things didn't work out for me. it's been a complicated week as a good friend and i were trying to figure out what our complicated status was. in the end, she's not ready to be in a relationship, and she has to cut the cord with me. major suckage because i ultimately lost a really good friend.

no it's not a celebrate every month anniversary. We both actually forgot our first month anniversary.... lol. I may just take her out on a different night, though I doubt that will happen. the day after our two month she is heading down south to watch Wicked with her mom and sister. So there may be no time... and besides I rather bundle it with her birthday which is in Jan :) Maybe 6 months we will do something big :)

mmm... Manhattans. Thought I'd take a break from expensive-ass single malt scotches. Using Crown Royal as a mixer, plus a little sweet Vermoth, plus a cherry, plus a dash of cold water (cuz my ice cubes are all gone so I can't shake the drink). When I go to pay my voluntary taxes at the state-run liquor store, they give me a bottle of Crown for every $19 donation... pretty good deal. Oh, and I'm currently eating a pound of corn. That's sure to go right through me.
