Ok, I admit it, I went and saw a 1:00pm showing of Freddy vs. Jason with my younger sister. She is a big Freddy fan, has been since he first came out (him and Chucky) so I figured I would take her to go see it. It would be a nice treat for her and a break from her daily routine.
Either way, I went to see it. Freaking $6.25 for a matinee. I havent been to a movie that i have had to pay for in a long while so that shocked me. I probably wont be going again unless I have my discounted tickets like usual. Even then, we dont go that often, but back to the movie.
The movie was actually ok. I would probably give it 2 stars (out of 4). It was a mesh of both story lines but in order to make it work some of the stuff had to become awfully convenient. Now to the important things...there is gratituous nudity and sex...the women are all pretty good looking....the violence is the usual over the top that we have come to expect out of these movies. There are some pretty funny scenes as well, about as funny as you can get in these types of the movies.
Overall, if you can wait, I would save your money and just rent it on DVD when it comes out. If you cant, try to see it on a cheaper day. So long as you dont pay too much and you realize what you are getting into, its not that bad.
