Scrolling and selecting text is lagging in IE on my Win2k...

It lags to select text, to scroll up or down the page on any pages more complex than www.drudgereport.com or other "simple" sites.

Got|Apex? lags. Any ideas to troubleshoot? I did the usual, scan for viruses, ran adAware, reinstalled sp3... It's been maybe a few weeks?

Video card?


I don't know what else to look for.

Popups slow my system down dramatically. I have gotten into the habit of temporarily disabling Java Scripting.

Damn spyware will get you every time. I had one of the field reps complaining up and down about what a sh*tty laptop we had given him, how we need to buy him a new one because this one is soooo slow, etc. Now this was a top of the line P4 laptop, so I thought he must be having some hardware problems.

Next time he was in the office, he brings it to me, boots it up, and I watch as Kazaa, Weatherbug, iBuddy and a whole slew of other crap load up and start fighting for the network connection. I had to run Ad-Aware about 5 times before it found & removed everything.

You can bet he & his boss heard it from me about that one....
