Man, I am not a big fan of College football because I hate that a computer picks the best team. But college playoff system would take waaaaaaay too long.
Anyway, I watched the end of both the USC v BYU and Miami v. Florida games. WOW!!! Two great games. For me it was just something to watch, but I'd have to say thus far it is the best football I've seen this season.
On a funny note, as it relates to USC. The ABC commentators were talking about SC's freshman QB Booty. I think this is a quote but they said something like this: "Man that Booty can sure throw a hummer."
Is it just me, but I would not want to be known as a man who throws hummers. I'd rather be the man who recieves hummers.

It's not that a computer picks the best teams. It's the two polls, plus a bunch of mathematical formulas that happen to be computed with computers because using an abacus is a bit hard.
With that said, I'm not a big fan because if you lose one game you're out of contention and thus people do some odd scheduling and so forth. The NCAA is missing a huge windfall on a Football tourney. Imagine a 32 team field competing for the national title. It would be larger than anything we've seen to date. ESPN last year had a proposal where each of the tourney games were bowl games, which made tons of sense. But since the NCAA is about 10 years behind (like baseball), they can't see the logic

The problem is that a tournament would have to start in early december when kids are supposedly taking finals and then run through winter break. Supposedly, the presidents of the schools arent wild about the idea of footbal dragging into the spring semester. They preach about academic integrity which is kind of funny.

That's bull (not you, the presidents). The presidents claim to care about the academics of their football team, but really they care more about the money. 14 games?? Come on. Soon they will have a 16 game schedule.
Fine, make it 16 teams. That's a 4 game playoff, so it'll start in december. Don't tell me that that's not good for their players because you know they'll be practicing night and day for the bowl game anyway.
The NCAA is the most corrupt system in the US. They claim they are for integrity in collegiate athletics, and thus suspend a guy for taking a free meal, yet everyone around them is exploiting the students for millions of dollars.

They might as well pay the kids some money each week because currently I dont think they can even get a job because it would violate the NCAA rules. The system is so screwed up that congress should look into it. The schools are making millions off these kids.
