NEW YORK (Reuters) -- Hollywood celebrity couple Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have split up, at least temporarily, after postponing their wedding over a media frenzy, People magazine reported on Sunday.

The magazine's Web site quoted unidentified sources as saying Affleck decided he wanted out of the relationship, but it was not certain if the break-up will be permanent.

Representatives for the pair could not be reached for comment. People magazine reported that the representatives said they had no knowledge of the break-up.

The pair, who reportedly planned to wed on Sunday at an estate in the hills near Santa Barbara, California, said in a joint statement last Wednesday that they had postponed the nuptials because of unwanted publicity.

Lopez, 33, and Affleck, 31, are currently America's hottest celebrity couple, but doubts were cast over their engagement when stories surfaced in tabloids and magazines last month about Affleck visiting a strip club without Lopez in July. Lopez publicly shrugged off Affleck's night out.

The couple also suffered bad publicity when their first movie together, "Gigli," was panned by critics and flopped at the box office in the summer. "

i don't think she'd change her name. this would've been her 3rd marriage and she kept Lopez with the other two.

personally i think J.Lo. is an AIRHEAD. sure, she is attractive, but not much upstairs. i caught a bit of an interview with her on "E" TV, and she sounded like a real duh.

i saw some interview a while back where jlo said the other 2 were just marriages... like flings or whatever. this time she's in love... :rolleyes:

AFFLECK'S MOTHER TO BLAME FOR AXED WEDDING?
Actor Ben Affleck's mother, Chris, has emerged as the reason her son's wedding to Jennifer Lopez was canceled -- because she didn't want him living in "a fish bowl" with the actress.
The allegations broke as Affleck boarded a private jet in Los Angeles Wednesday to meet J.Lo in Miami, Fla., for crisis talks, according to Britain's the Sun newspaper. However, other sources close to the hunk claim he was simply escaping to his $16 million hideaway in Georgia, and had no intentions of meeting Lopez.

Affleck's travels coincided with journalist Janice Min's revelation that his mom was partly to blame for the axed nuptials planned to take place in Santa Barbara, Calif. on Sunday.

According to the editor of celebrity magazine Us Weekly, Ben called off the ceremony after a phone conversation with his mom, who reportedly warned her son he'd be confining himself to a life of isolation should he go-ahead with the wedding.

She says, "The mother was a factor. She was worried her son would be living in a fish bowl. It's very clear Ben was the one who broke it off with J.Lo.

"First he called off the wedding and the next day, he called off the relationship."

I bet it was J. Lo who shot those people in the nightclub when she was dating Puffy. Now Shyne is at Riker's island getting ass pounded while J. Lo is off trying to marry another poor guy who is falling for her fake image.
