My cell phone rang and it said it was my younger brother who stood me up for dinner twice last week, the little punk. So when I pick it up its sounds like there is a problem with the connection so I call him back. At which point he picks up and I say, "yeah you just called me."
B: "No, I didnt"
U: "Yes, you did...check your out going calls"
B: "Oh sh|t...whoops. I didnt mean to call you"
U: "Thats fine...ummm..what happened with you last friday?"
B: "I'm so sorry, that guy whos car i got a ride to the tournament with left while I was playing my match. The problem was my bag was in his car with my cell phone in it and I couldnt remember your cell phone number. But it didnt matter because I lost my match anyway so i went back up to school right away anyway and would not have been able to have dinner with you."
U: "Well, that sucks. I waited until 8:30 again for you to eat until I finally gave up...AGAIN."
B: "I'm sorry...I should have called Dad and gotten your phone number to call you but I didnt think of that until now."
U: "Its no big deal...I will just shoot you the next time I see you"
B: Nervous laughter...ok

After this conversation I find out that my dad just told my brother and not me, that my pop-pop had been hospitalized after being flown home from the cruise ship he was on. So I call my dad..no answer. I dont get why he never tells me anything! I swear people can die and I might not find out about it until after the funeral which I missed!

I call my granny and talk with her for about 30 minutes or so. During which time I find out that my younger cousin has apparently gotten engaged. She has been hard to keep intouch with recently since she is in med school so is really busy. I feel so out of touch with my family.

Well, found out from my sister today that my brother just proposed to his girlfriend. Have not talked to my brother in months. Have only talked to him about his gf once and that was when I asked him. We used to be really close til he got heavily involved with college and stuff. :(

It's like they make ME feel bad for not driving 3 1/2 hours to see them, especially my grandparents, yet when I was going to go up there they were going to be on another 3 week cruise....

Yup, I know the feeling. Part of the reason we moved was to be closer to my family, so they could come visit us. We are an EASY 3 hour drive from them (all interstate, so it is 75 mph all the way up). How many times have they visited? We've been here almost 4 months. My mom has been up once. Didn't even stay the night. She was here for dinner and picked up Josh and took him home with her. Irritating because do they think our lives are any easier to manipulate to visit them? Grrrr.
