View Full Version : My brain hurts today.
As I'm sitting here at my desk wondering...
WHY WHY WHY did George "DVD in 2024" Lucas decide to have Greedo shoot first instead of just letting Han Solo p1mp him like a dirty whore?!? What sort of lame ass bounty hunter can't shoot a target three feet away from himself. I would have a hard time missing if I wanted to. Is Han Solo supposed to be some sort of wussie bounty hunter with morals? "I was gonna be a nice guy, but he started shooting at me and I had to defend myself." What sort of self respecting man asks first and shoots later. damn

george lucas has created some cool sh!t, but he is still conscious of appealing to the mass market, so of course there are going to be a million lame ass scenes for every cool one. you're thinking way to hard!
while we're here, i think lucas is a sissy for making episode 1 what it was. the prequels should be much darker and insightful. dont you think?

fuz, you should really get some sleep and lay of that coffee. but if you did follow my advice, it would mean we would have nothing intersting to read on this board, would we now?

It is true that Lucas made some good movies, it is also true that I should lay off the crack. But no way am I gonna stop injecting caffeine.
I'm just bitter, I used to think that the first three starwars movies kicked ass. But then all this crappy editing was done to change them all around and they aren't the same. Don't get me wrong though, I still love the originals, but I see no future for them. When George finally releases the movies on DVD for me to watch I doubt that they will be the old school version and I will have to watch the crap I don't want to see. But only time will tell.
As for the prequels, I wasn't disapointed by the first one. It was everything I expected it to be albeit one extremely annoying character. But that was still ok with me because it was still a good movie. I really do hope that everything goes to hell in the next two movies though. That would be cool.

Well of course I gotta post here. As far as I know the next flic will be a love story between Anakin and the Queen as well as a kindling love of Obi-Wan for the Queen as well. I think the clone wars will begin towards the end as Lucas has said that Ep 3 will be the darkest of the enitre Star Wars Legacy. Here is what is rumored to happen briefly. Obi-wan insist that Anakin train and not go and try to retrieve his slave mother until later. Meanwhile Palpatine knows of Anakins abilities so he has the mother killed thereby making Anakin pissed at Obi-Wan. Anakin becomes jealous of Obi-Wan and Amidala which turns him to the dark side and he confronts Obi-Wan and Obi-Wan knocks him into a volcano but keeps his saber (which he later gives to Luke) Semator/Emperor Palpatine rescues Anakin and constructs "THE SUIT" to save Anakin and he fuels Anakins hate for Obi-Wan and trains him thereby turning him into a Sith Lord. Ya ever wonder why he is called Lord Vader by underlings. He is now Darth Vader. This is just what I think will happen based on Rumors. Oh by the way the Jedi are exterminated by the Mandalorians in the clone wars (Boba Fett is a Mandalorian whom sees his world ravaged by the war with the Jedi. Also I have a hunch he is the Indian boy that is Anakins friend in EP1 because we all remeber from "Empire" that Vader mentions that Boba is an old friend)Also as for the Jedi Counsel. Mace Windu turns on the others and Kills them all as I believe he is actually a clone except for Yoda who obviously escapes to Dagaba (sp)

Well considering his screen time, yeah Samuel L. Jackson was just part of the eye candy for the movie goers. Honestly, I think that Episode One's plot was just fluff to display the new techniques in cinematography and special effects developed since the first trilogy. Hopefully, the next two episodes will have a story that we can enjoy. Maybe Mr. Lucas will wise up and realize how annoying Jar-Jar Binks was and kill him off.

You guys really need to read some of the books and comic books. http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/smile.gif Episode 2 will deal a lot with the bounty hunters. The woman who played Greedo originally has been hired back and people like Aura Sing (she's in EP1 in the pod race scene) and Boba Fett will be there. Why does Greedo get smoked like a chump? He's a newbie bounty hunter. If you're really interested you can read about his past in "Tales From the Mos Eisley Cantina". Very good book.
As far as Boba Fett being part of the Mandalorian guard.. they were killed out long before Fett was born. His real name is Jaster Mereel and is first a Journeyman Protector. Sort of a police officer on his planet. He kills another Journeyman that he feels deserved it and is exiled. Many years later he becomes Fett and adopts the armor because of the lack of emotion it shows and the fear it brings (along with all the cool gadgets).
As far as the extermination of the Jedi I think quite a few bite the big one in the clone wars but the majority are wiped out by the Emporer and his Jedi hunters.
It will be interesting how Lucas handles a lot of the information that has already been sketched out about this time period in the books and comic books that have been put out. There is a whole substory out there about why and how Yoda gets to Dagoba.
i dont think lucas gives a sh!t about what's in the books. he's probably just going to put a good mixture of ideas together that represent the story as it unfolded in his imagination originally. there are so many subplots and rumors out there that there's no way lucas can make a film for the fanatics.
by the way, is it true that boba fett is a female in some of the comics? and has anyone else heard of a possibility of jet li playing boba fett in the next movie?

Actually everything I posted was pieced together from bits I have heard from Lucas as well as various Star Wars sites not any books at all.

Hehehe.. I don't mean to anger any of you.. so don't take this all personally if I disagree. I have been a long time lurker here on the forum and website and just decided to contribute some of my knowledge.
Lucas does care about what is in the books, comics and video games. Up til now he hasn't licensed anyone to make anything that dealt with anything from before EP4: A New Hope. This was to keep anyone from messing up his EP1-3 in case he wanted to eventually make the movies (as he's doing now). Lucasarts has a whole department they say that helps authors write their stories and keep it within the Star Wars realm.. and keeps them from doing things that Lucas doesn't like. He is very strict with who he gives the Star Wars rights out to.
As far as Fett being a woman.. he has never been a woman in any book or comic but I've heard that he may be a woman in EP2. Sounds interesting but he is a man. Changing things like this would cause more of an uproar with hardcore fans than Jar Jar <annoying> Binks in EP1. I haven't heard anything about Jet Li as Fett but there have been some concrete rumors about the guy who played Maul being Fett (at least for the stunts) and doing some badass fight scenes again. He's also had a large part in finding an Anakin for EP2. I guess they are looking for someone that also has some martial arts skills but is somewhat unknown as an actor again.
Anyway keep the discussion going. I like talking to other fans. You guys (and girls) may want to check out www.sirstevesguide.com (http://www.sirstevesguide.com) It's probably one of the best news sites out dealing with all aspects of Star Wars.
i'm not saying that lucas doesn't care about what goes into the books, but does he pay attention to details that carry over from them to the movies? i dont read the comics and stuff, but usually there is so much subject matter covered in them, that when a movie comes along it doesn't exactly stay in line with what the comics were trying to achieve, let's face it, the movie really isnt for the hardcore fan.

Well you gotta figure that the movies came out first.. so the books are based off them. So your the answer to your question is yes.. the books and movies are intertwined.
No pre EP4 books were allowed to be written until now. And the few comics that are out now deal with things from EP1 and such. There have even been a few comics put out now dealing with the early adventures of Obi and Qui Gon and some of the other members of the Jedi council. Unfortunately I haven't had time to read them... yet.
