i come home to find a package on my door step, im thinking to myself, yay now i can complete this system. i come in and open the box to find a 52x retail lite-on burner with a slip saying that its a gf4 4200.

i e-mailed them already and we will see waht happens, but this seriously sucks.

Well, every company is going to make mistakes. It's how they handle the situation that tells you what kind of company they are.

Still, it sucks for you, xsiled2.

we will see, they sent me an email this morning to call, though oddly enough they arnt open today or tommarow...

yeah at first i thought it may have jsut been a slip up based on the numbers of the products being similar but they are WAY off.

anyway we shall see what happens in the end...

Newegg's customer service has been top-notch in the past. It stinks when the 1 time in a 100 they blow it is you...but I'm sure they'll take care of it.

BTW: the last three computer parts I've ordered online were refurbs (two mobos and one video card) from newegg-supposed to be "bare bones" but they all came with their driver disks and cables-all for much cheaper than the best prices at pricewatch.

I ordered a case and I had to pick it up. They wouldn't leave it at the door because it was "high value" product. It was about 50 bucks. No problems with them so far.

the wrap up

today i called, about 3 minutes ago and talked to one of their staff, they were as confused as i was.

they ened up giving me $15 credit to ship the package and a full refund, pretty nice id say.

so all in all it sucked to not get that i needed in the mail, but it will work out fine in the end.
