wow. ok. i am paid a salary in my job. it's a pretty decent salary for my age and location. (what would you consider a decent amount of money for a upper-twenty-something to be making in the mid-west?)
i also get a bonus based on certain goals that i need to meet.
well, this is my first year in this job and i worked with the guy that was over my position at the time to develop my goals. i had a couple of goals that were set that seemed pretty unattainable at the time.
however, two things happened. first, my new boss looked at my goals and reduced/threw out things that seemed too hard for me to do in my first year.
second, i have had 2 sets of customer make pretty big purchases out of the blue. one is for a yearly purchase of about $500,000 which counts toward my growth goal. another is making a one-time purchase of around $998,000 which counts towards my negotiations goal.
these numbers prob don't mean anything to you until you realize that my negotiations and growth goals were only $25k each. Of course, I have a lot of other goals but these results will blow my results WAY UP!
this means an extra $17k or so in my check around the first of the year if it works out. cheapie's getting a new bike. cheapie's getting a new bike!
of course, after taxes and tithe i'll prob only have about 7-8k left but it will still rock.
