Captain's log,

I't 5:30am now, and I'm still awake. I'm basically delirious and hyper, I've been up for 48 hours. My apt mates are asleep. I've got another 200 pages to read for this damned book. I hate finals week. 2 down 2 to go. Only a few more days and then I get to sleep.

End log...back to reading this damned book.

wow - that sucks. the longest i ever stayed awake was about around 72 hrs (3 days) and that was cuz i was playing a video game i rented from blockbuster and wanted to finish it so i wouldnt have to rent it again. i dont study like you are for finals tho - i find that it just makes me forget more things - if i just pay attention in class through the quarter i find that i dont need to study at all for tests for finals and i still get A's. maybe im just lucky or have a good memory or somethin like that.....

Crunch It Now - You NERD!!! just kidding http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/smile.gif

I agree that paying attention in class can usually get you by, but only for high school IMO http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/smile.gif (Well, actually it depends on what major you are for college http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/tongue.gif)

If you happen to be an engineering major, then you probably know about all nighters for the projects you have/had http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/wink.gif

Yeah, even in undergrad you could do without all-nighters, but if you're a gunner you need them. I was a bio major and pulled them, but I remember my neighbors were both EE and they had 5 people over to work on some project for 3 days straight with no sleep. At least it might be more fun/interesting that way.

Dude, be happy you're not in med school. Last month I thoroughly got my ass kicked. Wow, it does take brains to be a doc...and I don't have them j/k. I think. Anyways, the more you learn the better off you are!

I just notice I'm having troubles pulling all-nighters now that I'm getting old. In high school I pulled 106 hours for 6 AP tests, now that's a NERD! And it wasn't that hard either. Just stay away from coffee!

well, im not in high school anymore - im going for an associates degree in computer network systems technology. its not med school or an engineering degree - but its not easy, either. i like to think that i am just naturally smart http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

You mean you're intelligent. I tend to think the word smart and intelligent are somewhat different. Smart is full of facts, and intelligent means you can figure things out.

I'm not the fastest gun on the block in terms of learning, but whatever I do force in my head sits there and festers for years http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/smile.gif

And learing is relative. Remember how hard it was to learn that stuff that you hated? I think most of the people on this board would agree diagnosing computer problems is a usually easy - computer phobic people think it's miracle work interfacing with these demonic electronic monsters http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/smile.gif

ahh one final down 2 to go.

lol thats soo true about computer phobic people colossus. BTW how the hell do you make time to post stuff if your in med school? Just wait till your 3rd year and you'll never see the light of day workin' those 32 hour shifts http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/smile.gif hehe

I'm intelligent and i know a lot of stuff but i suck ass at memorizing stuff. depends on what it is though. I'm great in math and science but i hate hate hate hate hate english and history.

I don't have time hehe. I've been coming to this board since January but never had time to register. I only looked at the deals page for 5 mins a night. The reason I'm so chatty now is school is tapering off, this is my last week and I don't even have class tomorrow.

Next year, oh man, I can see then 2nd years getting killed studying for the boards. They look like zombies!

Rotations will more hard depending on subject probably more than time. I have a weird internal body clock that I can rotate quickly. 32 shifts, while painful, shouldn't be too bad as long as something interesting is happening. Then the adrenaline flows freely. Imagine 32 hours of rheumatology or something. Man I would be down in 3 hours! http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/smile.gif

Dude, all I do nowadays is pay attention to the professor like crazy. Don't even have to read the books anymore.....heck I don't even buy most of the books anymore. Good Luck.

Must be nice to have professors who actually lecture about the class rather than telling about their lives and current research projects. For many of my classes, listening to profs = GREAT nap....For the others, the profs just read straight out of the book because they wrote the book and really think it's great. So they have no problem with stores charging $150 and never having used books because they keep pumping out new editions.

Okay, I feel better now getting all that out. Got lots of pent up frustration toward incompetent profs and ridiculous textbook prices.

i dunno, GA is a regular convention of lazy/cheap people (you couldn't possibly beat me on the laziness factor though), so it could be hard to tell who is cheapest. i'm not saying all of you are lazy, but i know that a lot are http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/cool.gif.

oh yeah...back to the reason i was posting; hey thorin, i just finished re-reading the hobbit (it has been like 10 years since i first read it), so that i could get back into re-reading lord of the rings by the time the movies kick out next christmas (2001). Well, i wanted to say, cool name. Later.

I would respond to that scurrilous charge that GA members are lazy ProMinx but I just don't want to move out of my ez chair to type the response out. http://www.geocities.com/sbp7777/files/wink2.gif
