Hey there,
I use dyndns.org to get a hostname registered for my linux box (http://dsanchez.homelinux.net).
I have my linux box behind a D-Link firewall, connected to SBC 1.5 megabit DSL. The linux updater, called DDClient, sends me an email every time the IP of my linux box changes. It sends a packet to some server some where else, which returns my IP address, which DDClient sends to dyndns.org.
SOmething wierd has been happening the past few days. I have been getting emails saying my IP has just been updated to some other place! Here are some of the IP's that came back:
SUCCESS: updating dsanchez.homelinux.net: good: IP address set to 81.166.5.8
WARNING: skipping update of dsanchez.homelinux.net from 80.202.88.93 to 68.73.208.138. (the 68.73.208.138 is my real IP)
SUCCESS: updating dsanchez.homelinux.net: good: IP address set to 80.202.88.93
SUCCESS: updating dsanchez.homelinux.net: good: IP address set to 80.202.88.93
Some of those IP's are in FRANCE!! I have no idea what may be happening, but i figure a few of you may know something about dyndns.org. I went on to my account last night and changed the password, and changed it in ddclient.conf ( where it stores the configuration info), but it is still updating to wierd IPs. Since i changed the password, i doubt anyone is trying to screw with my account....
Thanks.
