Logitech's latest iTouch keyboard drivers can cause this. If you have a logitech keyboard and think you might need a fix, let me know and I'll give you a method to fix it and still retain full functionality of the keyboard.

1. For good measure, uninstall the iTouch keyboard drivers.
2. Download and install the latest drivers (v2.15) here (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm?page=downloads/software&CRID=1796&contentid=6015&countryid=19&languageid=1)
3. Copy the c:\program files\logitech\itouch folder to your desktop
4. Uninstall the iTouch keyboard drivers
5. Download and install the v2.13 drivers here (http://www.input-drivers.com/drivers/81/81127.htm). u/p = drivers/all
6. Make sure the iTouch software isn't running. If it is, close it
7. Replace the files in the c:\program files\logitech\itouch folder with the files you copied to your desktop
The v2.15 drivers have a registry bug which causes Windows XP to take forever to shut down. Logitech has been pretty quiet about this for at least a year now, despite the fact that XP is listed on the box. The v2.13 drivers don't have the shut down problem, but when you press the Media button there was a bug that caused a crash. Copying the v2.15 files over the v2.13 installation eliminates all the problems.
