I don't understand....How is WWE entertaining? I admit it would be cool to watch it live just to see all the famous entertainers in real life. I just might pay to see that. But spend time following this scripted acting on TV?? I don't know. Maybe 20 years ago when I was still in grade scool. I loved WWF back then. The Ultimate Warrior was my hero.

Nowadays, I enjoy MMA (Mixed Martial Arts). UFC is too raw. It's nice and violent, but feels low-class for some reason. It was good at first for the shock value, but loses its spark after a while and becomes ugly street fighting. Pride FC and K-1 are much better. It's still quite violent and exciting, but there's a certain level of regulations that keep the bouts from getting too primitive. The mix of strikers and grapplers add a nice variety to the fighting styles. A Time articles describes it perfectly:

What makes K-1 [or Pride FC] a hit is its remarkable ability to attract a crossover audience. It appeals to a traditional boxing crowd thirsting for something faster and edgier. It also attracts those who love the spectacle of professional wrestling --The indoor fireworks and booming heavy metal --without the carefully scripted fakery.

If you're interested here are a few famous fights that you should DL and check out on Kazaa.

how is it NOT entertaining? movies are scripted, news is scripted, soap operas are scripted. in fact, my friends and i call it the male soap opera. it's just "days of our lives" with clothlines, and body slams, and much more violence! plus the girls come out wearing next to nothing. (aside from when the fabulous mulah or mae young comes out, that's a good thing!) of course it's fake, but no one takes it too seriously, and that's what's so fun about it. but have you ever been to a live event? you may not think you'll get into it, but somehow, the energy of the moment really makes it exciting. you don't know why you're cheering, but you do anyways. just my two cents.

WWE stories are getting worse and worse. The older WWF stories are much better. Anyway I still take it as entertainment and we all know that its action is fake as hell.

Yeah Male soap opera. Stories are getting really lame. But there are just some matches that you watch, you know they are fake and you are like "HOLY SH.T"

Nothing beats live Wrestling.... well few things. Being a ta live event is wild. I used to go to Live W.O.W. when they filmed at the Forum. It wasn't WWE but damn was it fun and wild. Me and my friends really got into the action. Slam Dunk and Riot ruled.

One of the best fights, long and boring but incredible, is Sakuraba vs. Royce Gracie.
I'm looking forward to the next Pride event with the Gracie Family takes on a few of the Japenese superstars and a canadian.

I agree with your point of mma. I love mma. I watch every Pride, and usually catch the UFC. UFC is kinda like B league though. I don't understand your view between UFC and Pride. Pride is deffinatly more violent, and less rules involved. ie-UFC you can not be standing and kick a opponent in the head when he is on the ground. I think Pride is less primitive because they have better fighters. K1 is bleh- c league.

However i still enjoy WWE. Yes it's scripted, but they don't portray it as a sport but entertainment. ANd i usually find it entertainment(except cripple H)

hmmm Maybe things have changed recently. I know the rules are continuously revised, and Pride is always reducing limitations on what kind of attacks you can perform. But I always thought UFC had pretty much NO rules. I've seen people elbow and kick people in their faces while they're down all the time. However in Pride, you can't use your elbows, you can't head-butt, you can't hit somebody in the back of their head, etc... more rules, but much more professional. I agree with you about the players. UFC always features some fat ugly trailer park trash who think they can beat people up with their pot bellies.

I've been trying to find the FULL version with all the rounds of that match on Kazaa for a long time, because I've seen the short clip of highlights and that seems like one bad ass brawl. Two of the best grapplers for sure.

UFC now has rule and time limit. It was banned back in the 90's so it had to come up with rule and be regulated in order to compete and to be televised again.

I don't think i've ever seen the whole thing on there. It was a sweet fight. To some it can seem really boring, They spend alot of time in each other guards, Sakuraba of course has some sick moves, and basically the end in where Royce gets his elbow dislocated and i'ts lapping around and the ref stops the fight. This upcoming Pride event will be cool with all the Gracies fighting. I've actually met a few of them. I trained at Ralphs, i've also met Ceasar at a tournament and I did some training with Crosley who is one of the 100's of relatives. If you ever get a chance and are bored look up their family tree, it's a huge tree, and they all can probably kick some butt.

Just like boxing, it's boring if you don't know what's going on. At first I found it boring to watch grapplers fight. If you've watched a lot of grapplers fight, then you have an idea of what submission move they're trying to perform.
