View Full Version : Where do you go?

Where do you go with your SO, or where do you take your SO for fun?

we've done the disneyland, park, hollywood bowl, movies thing.

i'm looking for more ideas...any will be appreciated (the more money thrifty, the more i'll be appreciative). oh and for the record, i'd prefer something that would get us out of the house.

Picnics, hiking, camping, etc. Hell, sometimes I just like to go for a drive and see where we end up. I would advise against making a checklist though. Do the things that you find fun, and if you enjoy them, do them again. :shrug:

There are lots of things to see - you could go to the Huntington Gardens and gallery in Pasadena, you could go to the Getty, LACMA and even MOCA in downtown.

Also, Santa Anita is always something to do. You'd be surprised how much fun a day or evening at the racetrack can be.

As for the whole driving thing - Ladogaboy is right - a day trip out in Malibu, Newport, Manhattan/Hermosa/Redondo, Santa Monica or even P.V. (make a surprise vist at Apex's house :P ) can be fun. Since we are coming up on winter and somewhat cooler temperatures, Palm Springs and the So. Cal. desert is always an option too.

Come on out to Detroit! There's tons of stuff to do! There's, um... and you can... hmmm... it's cold in the winter... and, ummm, they make lots of cars here, and...

Descanso Gardens and the Norton Simon are really nice as well. You could also visit Echo Park, and there are quite a few places that host poetry readings at night.

um, you can go shopping at summerset. and at 12 oaks.

yeah, that's about all i know.... :|

:heh: been there done that. i used to work for a car rim manufacturing company, and some of us were sent to detroit to Ford HQ to get special training. we were bored so we drove around. saw the stadium where the tigers play (forgot name), and then saw the ghetto area, so decided to go home...

Depends on when you were there. If it was on old building then it was Tiger Stadium. If it was more recent and the building was newer than it was Comarica Park. :angel:

you can go to a lions game. the new stadium rocks! i have company seats there that i get to use twice this year. 60 yard line, 25 rows up. oh yeah.

you can go across the border and go to windsor to gamble or to, ummm, other sorts of establishments.

take her to 3 st.. and just walk around.. shopping.. see the entertainments (santa monica)

or go drive to SD.. visit their old town down there
try out the "best magaritta in the world"
