Well, since the Lakers beat the Blazers yesterday, we all pretty know who's going to win the Final (Go Lakers!!), and the craze for baseball is diminishing because the homerun race is over. I guess it's about time to go for some football, even though it's still a few months away. Deion Sanders just signed a deal to the Redskins, like I really care about him. However, the crappy 49ers are going to let Steve Young go, if he doesn't retire. Freaken A, first they dump Montanna, now Young. http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/mad.gif http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/mad.gif http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/mad.gif Young is currently in talks with the Denver Broncos. If he goes to Denver, I'm switching to the Broncos. Darn the executives at the 49ers organization. It's not like they can create another Superbowl contending team anytime soon.

Well, S, it ain't like they could really keep young under the cap rules if they want to have any chance of winning A game this year. Really, as sentimentally nice as it would be to keep ol' Steve around, you're looking at a guy getting paid 6 mill plus for what? What if he gets his bell rung in the first game o' the season. They still gotta pay him! So you got 6 mill sitting on the bench for the rest of the year, while Gio Carmazzi/whoever the hell they bring in cools his heels and loses a year working with the first unit.
Want to see painful? Check out my Vikings. We lose the entire blind side of the O Line, our third best receiver, and startin' TE. Oh yeah, we have an infant throwing the ball.

Dang, what the heck happened to all those great teams of the past?? The Rams came out of nowhere to win the Superbowl.
Young really needs to retire. He's putting his health in great jeopardy if he continues to play. In addition he has nothing left to prove and has other things in life he can do.

Hey sbp, you're also in the DC area right? How about them redskins http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
I'm glad they are getting rid of Young. He didn't do anything for the team last year except get knocked down. While they are at it they should ditch Rice. Sure, he was good, but he dropped more passes last year than most other recievers.

Anyone heard about Deion? The redskin's secondary's gonna be unstoppable. Someone told me they were going after Barry Sanders too...
Nothing money can't buy i guess

I'll tell you what money can buy: a dismantled team in two years, tops. They just better hope they win the Super Bowl this year, or else they are toast. Say hello to league minimum: linebackers, o-line, offensive depth, DEFENSIVE depth. They have like eight superstars, and no body else, and i think we've all learned that just doesn't win you championships. Much better to have three or four and a solid team top to bottom.

The niners w/o Debartelo have no class. Young obviously want to play, he is still one of the best quarterbacks in the league, and he has done so much for the 49ers, so LET HIM PLAY. Steve does not want to leave the 49ers, but he will if he has to.
I love Walsh, but he is a dickhead sometimes. I totally believe that it is Walsh that is kicking Young out. He has basically said that Young will not play for the 49ers next year, and this was a few months ago before Steve even decided what he is going to do!
Is Terrell Davis(sp?) back with the Broncos next year? If he is, Denver is going all the way. Steve still has a few seasons left in him, espeically if he has a strong running game and Ofensive line that will protect him a little so he does not get knocked out every play. The niners offensive line is one of the worst in the game, so no wonder Steve has had all these concussions. Man, if he wasn't so fast and such a damn good athlete, he would be retarded by now.
Just my 2 cents.
BTW, no matter what, I will always be a niners fan,

That's right mahalo, nicely said. And TD is going to play next season.
The Redskins are the odds on favorite to go to the Super Bowl this year imo. They paid too much for Deion Sanders. They already had Darrell Green and Champ Bailey as corners. Darrell Green a future hall of famer is going to be sitting on the bench. And this after extending his contract for 5 more years. Now I know both Sanders and Green aren't going to play all those years of their respective contracts and those deals were structured that way for salay cap reasons but c'mon.
