My mom had a lumpectomy a couple of weeks ago and they got the results the other day. It came back as cancerous. I don't know any other details yet. I am sure they caught it early, as she does yearly mammograms and monthly self exams, but I don't know.
Anyway, thoughts and prayers would be appreciated.

adding your Mom to my prayer list Jenny. hopefully she just needs a mastectomy, which i know isn't the greatest thing, and that will take care of it.
what is it with all the cancer? and the thing of it is years down the road it will be so simple to cure. i'd bet on it.

I talked to my mom tonight. It is a Stage 0 cancer, so she is going back in and they are going to scrape out a bit more breast tissue and then she will have to undergo radiation, but everything looks good. The cancer is just in the duct. It hasn't even spread to her breast tissue yet. So thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. :)

wow great! Lucky they caught it at real early development. Glad to hear the situation is not as bad as it could have been.

I got your back Jenny. There is a woman here at my work that leads a prayer group. I will let her know about your mom so they can add her to the list.
Stay strong and positive, and hopefully things will turn out alright.

have her read lance armstrong's book "it's not about the bike" for some inspiration. it's mostly about lances cancer experience and recovery.

Well, talked to my sister. The tissue they scraped out last week again was also cancerous. Not sure what happens next. She may have to have a mastectomy. :|
